The Straits and humor

I just read the second entry from the bottom on Alan's news page (http://alanclarkmusic.com/news.html), and it struck me how similar the tone of the humor is to that of Mark and the boys', albeit it a bit more crude. The entry is hilarious though.

It's the perfect exanple of what happens to any successful group with one main creative engine who's trousered most of the cash and now has no interest in giving the public what they want (see also The Band, Creedence Clearwater, The Stranglers, The Jam and, until recently, Cream and The Police)

I love that! I think there's a healthy number of MK fans that feel the same way and lament the lack of energy in the solo stuff.
Mmmm, I might join the wine club and see if I can talk Mark into a bit of rock and/or roll! :)
Hey, i`ve got a truffle dog - finally a song the ordinary man can relate too!

Fletch, that's an interesting piece too, but I actually meant the part above, i.e. this:

On 23rd of June we played the Summersound Festival in Switzerland, and on the 25th we played the See Rock Festival in Graz, Austria.

When we arrived at Graz airport, we spotted this driver waiting for his pick-up:

I love his po-face. In the background are Simon and Glen from the crew, and Phil and Mick from the band. And Herr Wanker exists! Here he is:

This got us thinking: How many Wankers are there in the Austrian telephone book? We considered asking the audience, "How many of you are Wankers out there? Hands up all the Wankers." Then we thought better of it.

Then I thought: are there any Wankers in the US telephone book?

The answer is yes: Willy Wanker!

You're so right WM.  Here's a joke (a little rude ladies):

Person 1: "All wankers over here please."

Person 2: "Hold on a minute, I'm cumming!"
"...and I blew up the radio in pretty short order."

To be honest I cannot see any similarity between this kind of humour and the one I know from "MK and the boys"... But maybe I am only a unhumourus wanker...  ;D

It wasn't so much the "wanker" aspect of it, but the observational part - noticing funny things around them and cracking up. Guy is the same - posting pictures of weird signs and stuff.
