Mark is going to record all the 60+ year-olds from the choir at the Remembrance Day concert for background vocals for his new album. Half of them are on vacation in Palma until September, thus the delay.

I have a feeling Mark maybe the other headline act at BBC Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park, on 11th September, Lionel Richie  is one headline act, and Simon Mayo will announce the other one on Monday, Guy keeps saying we are awaiting the official announcement, meaning that its out of his and Mark's hands to say anything!!! I could be wrong but I think this maybe it. Plus Jools Holland is playing too.

Whaaauww it took a long time to read all the messages after my vacation!

Superval, it's great that you found that information about Bob Dylan! It is my personal opinion that Bob made a few good songs in the past and there were also a few nice songs at his latest CD, BUT ............I don't like the idea that Mark will be playing at a concert with Bob! Eric Clapton would be something different, but naaahhhh Bob is an old man now and compared with Mark, who's voice got better and stronger the last years, I think Bob's voice is less good!  

Besides when I attent a concert of Mark and his guys, I want Mark for me alone  :P..........Uuuhhh I mean with all the other fans, I want to enjoy his music and watch him playing whole evening and don't want to share him with another artist!

Isn't this exactly the type of event Mark has been running away from for the last 20 or so years?

I also have the feeling that MK is looking for a special event like that to play with John a couple of songs, including MFN. Not exactly a DS reunion but somehow he has to remind people who Dire Straits is.
