meaning, if she signed it will now quickly be available to buy? i am gonna buy it!
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....

I don't know ... Very slick production. Almost 80s style reverb on the vocals. And Mark played, four notes?

I didnt read the booklet (just bought the mp3) but I guess MK is playing the guitar during all the song, in a jazzy way.

A friend of mine told me that the whole record was recorded from 3.00 am to 9.00 am, in just one session. I doubt very much that MK played in that session LOL so I guess it was an overdub.

I wonder where is the fun in playing with people like B.B.King or John Foggerty when what you are doing is playing along with a tape in the comfort of your own studio in London, instead of do the real thing...

I recall Phil Collins refusing to sing in a Frank Sinatra

I totally agree, Its one of the problems of the amazing recording processes we now have, I feel to really make a track work, you need to be with the other artist, in the studio together, and I'm surprised Mark hasn't always done that with guest spots for other people.
Knopfler, Oldfield and Gilmour is all the guitar I need.

jbaent, what kind of an attitude is this, mentioning Phil Collins as a good example. I will have to report you to dusty...
But you are right on all other counts. His guitar was recorded at his studio and was mixed with the rest of the song later. It is a Willie Nelson song, and even though I admire the guy, I am not that much into his music. But that is just personal taste. (By the way, I loved Nelson's re-edition of Dylan's "What was that you wanted"  at the concert for Bob's 50th birthday. But it is an awesome song anyway.) Of course I dare say that MK's collaboration with B.B. King wasn't bad, and with John Fogerty was above fine, even though they were both overdubs. So i guess apart from the necessary alchemy between the musicians at a live-present in the studio recording, you have to have a nice-fitting composition as well.
But enough said...
Come on, it is not funny anymore.
