The drumming on What It Is is good, and Chad is rock solid, but I sometimes I yearn for some variation in his playing. KTGC did not feature much drumming at all, but I like what Danny did on GL when he got the chance, as on Cleaning My Gun.

But raw blues style, yes please! Doubt that it will happen, though.

Well, funnily enough I listened to the STP album this morning and found that the drumming on What It Is and almost all other tracks was so much better, done by Chad Chromwell, than on any other album since 2006... Maybe the reason for this is that MK wants other stuff than in those years and that Danny nowadays is the best possible man to offer what he exactly wants... But I really think the drumming on MK's solo records has declined ... or has lost its relevance... Live on stage it's another story of course... And that Danny seems to be a great chap is also another cup of tea!  ;)

So, a new drummer might imply a new drumming sound/style on the new album and that would be great in my opinion.

You mean Chad "cymbals" Cromwell? ;)
Listening to the STP tour bootlegs and all you can hear are Chads cymbal bashing!

Yeah, that was why I was talking about the albums... I know there are some really bad sounding bootlegs around...

The FM soundboards from the STP tour exacerbate Chads sound and drown out all the other instruments making it almost unlistenable to my ears.  Lucca 2001 sounboard e.g. has terrible sound IMO mostly because of Chads drumming style which is a real pity because it's a cracking concert. :(

Speaking of the STP tour, this is not the drumming that I find most inappropriate (I let you guess what ;D)

And among things I enjoy, the MFN intro is high on my list.

By now, just this little text:

Mark and I have been working away in Studio 2 since my last diary entry, with the occasional trip down the hallway to utilize the magnificence of Studio One. We've not only been enjoying the natural ambience on Mark's electric guitars but have used it on a few songs which Mark has played acoustic and sung at the same time.

I too have no idea how it works. Could it be that these guys have too much time and just try for fun and change the "1" at the end of the URL and change it to "2" just to see what will happen??  ::)

Well, I tried and changed them till Number 4 and I can assure you there are no more "newer" diary pages in the making...  :D

BTW, how comes that I cannot see the calendar page from this site? Everytime I click it it says "Invalid Year value". Has someone of you clever guys a
solution for THAT too?  :lol
