it contains the three songs that were already played on Chris Barber's Jazz diaries series and that can be gotten from some bootlegs.
BUT, the cd is great fun, and it is a double cd. so double great fun:-)
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....

It's great to have these contributions from MK in the long interval between cds.    Sometimes it means listening to a new artist (new to me), which is an added bonus.
But a spoonful of forgiveness
Goes a long, long way
And we all should do our best
To get along

Re Chris Barber - we're going to a concert in May as my husband is a long time fan.   If CB can keep touring at 81, then so can MK!

Yeah

What's this I'm reading on Guy's forum about Danny being replaced for the new record?  I'm certain MK would go for a great drummer as a replacement as he always chooses the best of the best, but I'd miss Danny if he is going.  Hopefully this is just idle speculation  ???.

I reckon it's just idle speculation, because Ian Thomas is playing on the Bap Kennedy album.   Guy is being a bit coy about it, as usual, to keep us guessing, I think!   I would really miss Danny, if it is true, though!

Well, funnily enough I listened to the STP album this morning and found that the drumming on What It Is and almost all other tracks was so much better, done by Chad Chromwell, than on any other album since 2006... Maybe the reason for this is that MK wants other stuff than in those years and that Danny nowadays is the best possible man to offer what he exactly wants... But I really think the drumming on MK's solo records has declined ... or has lost its relevance... Live on stage it's another story of course... And that Danny seems to be a great chap is also another cup of tea!  ;)

So, a new drummer might imply a new drumming sound/style on the new album and that would be great in my opinion.

As much as I love Danny, and the rest of the usual members of course, it would be REALLY great to have completely new musicians on this new record. It would be great to have a more raw, bluesy feel.

Can't wait for up-to-date news!!!!

Cheers. BBB

You mean Chad "cymbals" Cromwell? ;)
Listening to the STP tour bootlegs and all you can hear are Chads cymbal bashing!
