No news is good news?
« on: December 04, 2010, 07:14:24 AM »
'No news is good news' goes the famous expression. Well, since the end of the (great) tour in July one would have to admit that news in terms of Mark and the guys putting finger to guitar strings has been minimal. One hopes that things have been going on in the background but the lack of news from Guy in this respect leads me to wonder perhaps not. With 2011 just around the corner, one can not help but perhaps come to the conclusion that next year will not be bringing any new music from the man to listen to. Then again, we can hope and pray that the 'No news is good news' concept is just that! :)

I don't expect anything in 2011. If they want to record in February - March 2011 they usually should have started something right now... I guess we have to wait until 2012...

Perhaps he's writing his memoirs  ;D

One wonders. Hopefully he's writing some songs and a few kick-ass guitar riffs... (Yeah, right)

Do you? Which material should be used then? In 2010 there was no filming... And I do not remember any filming in 2008... I do not want to see Madrid 2001, I hate watching those pics and listen to that stuff - from the worst tour MK ever did...
So maybe they do some gigs for charity and release it?

I however expect recordings for 2011. Mark could start in January, that would be almost as usual. If he releases an album, it could also be spring 2012, like he did with ATRR. And then a little tour for two or three months in 2012... Who knows..

Good question, Dusty.   That would definitely influence any possible live dvd.   I don't think that's going to happen, though.   I am hoping for a new cd late 2011--maybe November?

Please do not forget about Catalonia soundtrack. The future move is not cancelled, just delayed. Hank Levin (producer of this move) is currently working on this project.

Guy's response today: "Quite busy actually - Working with Mr. Illsley on an 'unspecified' project and with a very cool, young Brighton band called Modern Fighting Vehicles. Stuff happening in the new year too."

Let's hope the "stuff happening in the new year" is related to Mark...
It's the end of a perfect day..,.

This all sounds intriguing!   Thanks, Ustas, for the news about Homage to Catalonia.    I was wondering about it the other day.   I was looking at the book on my shelf and thinking I should reread it.   (But I really don't want to--it's pretty heavy stuff.)
