every year this subject comes up and every year I contribute the same thing to the discussion, so I'll say it again this year  ;D

Why should we care if he doesn't and the "Rock and Roll" Hall of fame is a joke because Madonna and Abba (amongst other "Rock and Roll" acts ) are in it and, although I have nothing against those 2 acts they are hardly Rock, are they?

I think Mark Knopfler wants DS to be in the HoF as much as the Sex Pistols wanted their band to be in the HoF.  :P

For what it's worth Donna Summer is a real legend to me, some of those disco records were amazing.

Darlene Love, well, less so, but she's still had a great career, icluding singing on loads of great Duane Eddy records. Saw her in Hairspray on Broadway in 2005 when I went to see MK, and of course she was Danny Glover's wife in Lethal Weapon. :)

Lol I wasnt bashing Donna Summer at all, I meant it in the essence of it meaning to be the 'Rock and Roll' hall of fame.

I love Donna Summer too! I love so many types of music.

There is very little I don't like apart from heavy Thrash Metal or Rap :)

Yes, well, I do have this single of Guitar Man and a few more Duane Eddy records lurking in my cupboard.  I was a great Duane Eddy fan, but somehow his guitar doesn't excite me at all these days!  I know MK liked DE a lot too, he talked about "Because They're Young"  on the 'Roots' programme.  As for Darlene Love, I can't for the life of me see why she, who was just a backing singer really, would be in the R&RHOF and MK/DS is not!  :(

because the Rock and Roll Hall of fame is not what its name indicates. It's a big joke. Why is it so important to you?
