Mark's first appearance at the RAH

Obviously Dire Straits never played at the Royal Albert Hall.... So the question popped up: When did Mark Knopfler first play at this beautiful and historical venue? I tried and did some research: He really had his first own gig there at the Golden Heart tour 1996, right?
And his first appearance there must have been with Eric Clapton's August tour, on 6th January 1987. Not sure about any Prince's Trust gig before that, though..
 
So can anybody confirm this or add something interesting to it?
