Good work filz.

It was a seriously well played show tonight, but still a very different environment for us. I don't know what some of these people are thinking...sitting there yelling at you like your an animal in a cage and then getting on their Blackberries or whatever they are and texting while you're playing. Incredibly rude.

I had read that before.
Very well spotted from the stage!
I also considered the rose throwing very rude.
Even if roses are something nice; it looked like an attack to me.
Or like throwing coins in a fountain.
Or like stuffing fake money into bras of red light girls... Sorry for that...

Plus: The roses were picked out of bouquets they had placed on the tables. So nobody really offered something personal by throwing them...
Well, money doesn't tell people need to be educated......

Well if we are to believe what we hear & money is not an issue for MK & he does this for the love of his music/fans I dont see them doing another 2 gigs in Monte Carlo next time ::)

RB seems to be a nice genuine guy & it takes a bit to piss him off - just reading his notes he seems a bit pissed off with the people & prices rather than the place though.
If it aint broke dont fix it!

Sorry to say, but I don't think MK disliked the venue and its ambiance...

The only thing I'm sorry to say is that the band are happy to play longer playouts in these shows where the playouts in other shows are getting shorter and shorter.  Just shows that they can do it when they want to.

Personally I would rather have extra songs than long playouts.

Don't get me wrong, long playouts have been a big feature of MK's best work over the years, take Tunnel of Love for example.

But these days a long playout usually involves plenty of noodling from John and Mike and not enoughj guitar.  :-\

Why "sorry to say"? He still has to play other places if he's on a proper tour.  :lol

Hi filz!   I suppose this is a bit of a trivial question, but did the band wear suits?   :)

LOL, not at all! :)
Gladly not!
Check Richard's notes from the road; they weren't even allowed to go at the bar after the show due to that....  :o

Of course, I read his notes this morning, but I obviously was still half-asleep, LOL!   ;D

I guess the plus side of these "fancy" shows is that they subsidise the rest of the tour for paupers like me. :)

Disagree strongly, Dustyvalentino!

I bet half of the price paid was for the supper.
The other half was about the same price as for regular shows.
Having a capacity of only 900 people this cannot be much of a subsidy...

Yes, you did, Pottel!    It would be lovely to have a recording of even one of the shows, but both would be a wonderful bonus!   :)
