OK, I can understand! But I know Holger, he is always that friendly, if maybe another begging fan was asking, he probably couldn't resist. Funny that the security guys also have setlists! Never thought of that. And as we learned from Isaac's blog today, Germany has the fiercest security men from all over the world!  :lol Will ask one in HH, maybe I get one, then I will try and send it to you, Pottel! How is that?  :D

LE

Germany has the fiercest security men from all the world ?

I guess Isaac was LUCKY he didn't encounter those heavy handed overly zealous security gorillas in Philadelphia. ( Sorry, those jerks acted just as described)  They gave another fan ( I ignored them completely) a hellish time.  Claiming our seats are not legitimate.  Insisting that my friend needed to go the management.  What ? after we paid $330/each for some crappy seats in front of the speakers ?  The first few songs was ruined by them.  When I went back to listen to the recording, I could hear the heated exchange.  The venue was located in the dumpy/seedy part of town.

The best part was when my friend went over to the security jerk that sat right in front of us the entire show, and said " Do you know who MK is?" " no, I couldn't careless" was the immediate response.  "of course, you don't!"  " do you know how important he is to me  I flew in from out of town to see him?" " Do I give a sh...?" was the jerk attitude.  " you did your damn best to ruin it for me" The general verbal exchange was nasty along that lines.

They also yelled at us just because we tried to take some pictures of the trucks and the equipment.

A lot of the sound crews are very nice though.  They all said great things about working with Mark.

I noticed something very interesting yesterday evening in Paris regarding the security thing.

Security were standig against the barriers watching us but just before the show no else than PC from the far right side of the stage did make a sign to them and the security team left the area.

sweetsurrender, don't put every word Isaac types on the gold scale. Yes, the security guys were a little rude in Frankfurt, but I am convinced there are far worse of those people. Sorry about your own experience by the way. I think what he had in mind when he was writing his blog was that famous incident in Cologne during the Shangri-La tour 2005 when people were rushing towards the stage after TR and they were violently pushed back by some security monkeys. It even prompted MK himself to react with a "F*cking security!!" (You can hear it on the bootleg) and they withdrew.

However, this was just one incident. I've been to quite a few MK concerts in Germany (more than Isaac, at least so far...) and can reassure you that German security is certainly not the "fiercest in the world".

I wouldn't have minded some more security during the bag control at the entrance, though... I don't know, it's probably because I once worked at an airport for a while, but a lax security in regards to bag control always makes me nervous.

What a poor sucker he is. I don't get it people are still filming complete shows, even if they explicitly mention it's FORBIDDEN. The quality of this kind of filming is absolutely cr*p, useless or whatever just like the overall sound quality. Besides, we do have SB recordings now. Maybe these people should get a life, I mean, a real one. It's this kind of poor suckers who ruined my M&G two years ago.

The video quality of these ones is pretty good, as is the sound.  I certainly enjoyed watching them all. :)

So now now...

No flaming here. Or insulting. Or is this the Guy Fletcher forum....  :disbelief :disbelief Sorry, Guy, just tried to be funny...it is just that I was involved in some very bad discussion over there lately, but  the way Guy comments it is highly respected by me!

In fact, these films are not from me, but if he's a forumer, he could be very pissed about your post. Some of our very well respected people put up some
youtube-clips from the very beginning of this tour, and it was ok. Of course quality is questionable, and the camera policy is also, but please...
Do not want to start any fight, but the internet is not "here" and "there", it is "all this"...

Thanks LE.

Well, I am generally against crappy videos but these are really good. And I know it's forbidden BUT I watch them. We all know how slim the chances of an official DVD are so... We pretty much have a double standard problem I think.

i also filmed a show together with Markywes in rotterdam 2008, without disturbing it for anyone, so pls do not generalise too much.
i TOTALLY get your drift, most video's are not that good, and mostly made with mobile phones, filming shaky and blurry, still, no need to call names. (meaning, the comment itself is valid, just no need for the "names")
still, we are a free froum, so this will remain on here, just reconsider the nexttime you are upset.
((and people pls remind me of my words here the next time i get "upset" about something)
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....

Errr no, filming in 2008 was actualy only allowed on the first Amsterdam show.

I was there and as soon as the second Amsterdam show no one else than PC did come very early in the show and politely asked a known fan from the first row to stop filming.

Rotterdam being the third night of the tour it was already forbidden on that night.

The revised policy was announced on the site on april 2d

"Important Announcement
Revised Policy on Recording & Photography at concerts

There are increasing numbers of fans filming the show. Everybody should be able to enjoy the concert without interference from others. It is beginning to get too distracting for the band and irritating too many people in the audience. Please note that starting with immediate effect video/DVD/film cameras will not be permitted in any part of the venue. Single shot cameras and audio are still okay but please be mindful of your fellow fans.

Paul Crockford
PCM"

And on April 15th the full policy page was updated
