Answer from Ulf

We already have got the files and will start mixing them within the next three weeks. It will take still a little time until the shows are done but when you calculate est. 4 weeks it should fit. Let me come back to you when things are done. Actually the mobile has just returned and I am on tour again. When I have got a little rest we'll start. Thanks for your patience - Ulf R.

Lets wait then, I really hope they don

They are not going to release US shows, you know, legal issues, Warner owns Mk rights in the US, and Universal in Europe...

If you look here

http://simfylive.com/en/artist/3272/live-dates/Mark-Knopfler.html

There are a few 2008 dates, and also the remaining 2010 european dates, just the dates, not links to downloads or anything...

Do you think does it means anything? We know that Ulf had the remaining european dates tapes, but this 2008 dates, I don

Not that strange ... I don't know what is the deal between Simfy and MK but obviously the venues have a key role in the negotiation.
I assume Ulf has nice a relationship or a global deal with the german/austrian venues. Or it's just easier for him to get the recordings / rights because it is innerhalb Deutschland.
If ever there is chance for 2008 recordings to see the light, it's very logical to start working on these ones.
I'm pretty optimistic, especially because the copyright-nightmare shows (USA-Canada 2010 and RAH 2008) are not listed.  ;D

But the recordings are supposed to be made by them. Moreover they are more of a current tour issuing company  than an archival live recording scheme. But of course I would be delighted to get both 2008 Amsterdam shows in sbd quality.

no one from simfy has said that the recordings "need to come from them"
i mean, the recordings Ulf was supposedly working on from the pre london shows were also recordings made by the band.

But in the deal between MK and them were they supposed to be? That leave another one question : what was the original plan?* Why pre-London show were not recorded? An easy answer would be contractual things not cleared in time to start the recording... Just guesses

*: remember 2005...what was supposed to be and how it ended.

Yeah, 2005 was a bit of a farce in terms of the organisation surrounding the recordings and distribution. But this time around, whatever happens (or does not happen) with the UK gigs, 43 recordings from the European leg of the tour is a pretty good result.

Just got me wondering. Out of the 43 available, how many have you guys bought?
I've got 13. I only intended to buy 2 or 3, but the tempation was too great. I will also be buying a few more UK shows if and when they appear.

I have six, but hopefully, when the UK shows emerge, I will buy the four shows I attended.  I really love the ones I already have!   :P
