Just had an email from our Chairman Pottel, seems Paul Crockford has confirmed that recordings from the current tour are to be made available via Simfy:

Going by their site it seems recordings come in MP3 320 kbps, some will complain but that is good enough for me.

Other artists have MP3s available on CD or USB for

Says you can buy them at the venue on USB or download later. It's showing

All shows or just a small part?

"Only" the European shows after RAH up so far for pre-order, but that's still 28 soundboard recordings!

Great news, even though not as good as it there was a Blu-Ray or even a double CD..
Couple of questions, if anybody know the answers:

1/I guess, looking at the site, that there are no stupid restrictions, like Passalong used to have, on which countries you can download from ?
2/I really hope this time there won't be bloody DRMs on the files that prevent you to use them on a Ipod ? Unlike Passalong ? the site mentions such DRM in some cases...
3/Are they really soundboard recordings, i.e. given by GF ? The site mentions their professional studio team to make the recordings... in that cas that would be quality audience recording rather than soundboard !! hope not.
4/The pre-orders starts at June 6th concerts; but Pottel mentionned starting from tonight's show at RAH ? What shows exacly will be available ? all of them in retrospect ? or starting tonight ?
5/Will the shows be available right after the concert on USB, i.e. after the show you wait, queue, pay, and get the USB key of your very concert, still hot ? or do you only get USB keys for previous concerts ?
Thanks if somebody can answer !

I found only 24 items from 2010/06/06 Merksem (Antwerp) to 2010/07/04 Budapest on the web, http://simfylive.com/en/artist/3272/live-recordings/Mark-Knopfler.html    Where're the RAH download or pre-order links?

One more question, I think GF said on his forum that previous tour recordings were not te be issued.
Nonetheless, it would be very easy for them:
1/To re-release the 2005 digital downloads, now that Passalong went bust and that they are nowhere to be found officially,
2/To release the 2008 concerts that GF said were recorded,
3/Let's dream, to release the video of "An evening with MK" (Hurlingham 2009) which is very sweet, even if not a full live concert, and is only available on "Pay per view" on I-concerts or some telecom operators services...

What do you guys think ?

I was not thinking of Cannibals, which reminds me of WOL, which is the only MK song I hate, because it was overcommercialized, and part of the reason why I could never get some friends of mine, big Pink Floyd fans, to consider listening to MK :)
Neither was I was thinking of TLWNF or TFATB (not the best songs from KTGC...)
I was thinking especially of:
-Postcards from Paraguay, another highlight of 2008, sadly missing this year, and the only song from Shangri-La which I really love,
-Devil's baby played only in Amsterdam
-Secondary Waltz only played in Edinbourg

Hurlingham was broadcast on TV and is available in DVD quality on the tracker, so I don't need an official release of that.

But 2005 in 320kbps quality would be good, and any soundboard from 2008 would be nice too.

My memory is hazy, wasn't Secondary Waltz played at Newcastle in 2008 as well? They definitley soundchecked it, I heard it as I was waiting to go into the Meet and Greet. :)

Great news indeed BUT... I just clicked on one of the future concerts to see the details and I can see one dissapointing message there: "Sorry, but this concert cannot be purchased in your country"

Are we going to have the same story as with Passalong concerts?  :-[
One could hope that this will not happen again. Hope this is too soon to be dissapointed and they will resolve this issue.
...Well, he's a big star now but I've been a fan of his for years. The way he sings and plays guitar still bring me to tears...
