I admit I also loved the sensation of the surprise in Amsterdam 2008!

Nevertheless, I always want to know. And if there are recordings around I even want to hear them. Or watch. Also prior to the first show I'm going to.
Same with new albums. If there are snippets or first songs (or the whole album :o ) spread out somewhere I want to get to listen to them.
I soak in any impression of our hero's genius.
Who knows if I'm run over by a bus tomorrow?
We live only once and not even long...

That said: The best idea is to attend one of the first shows - if it's possible  :-X

I am normally on the "don't wanna know" side but this year it's different
1) It's far too long to stay away from Guy's diary, this forum, facebook, etc
2) I am taking my little son to see the show and want to make sure he knows all the songs, so I am going to play them for him.

So spoil me please!

ROFL moat, you are right!  ;D

I was in Amsterdam also in 2008 with the kick-off and it was great to hear the songs for the first time.  :P This year I know I can't wait till May 27th and June 28th, so I don't mind to be spoiled and know which songs will be played! ;D

I too was at Amsterdam 1st night in 08. What a GREAT feeling, and so many surprises.
In 06, i didn't want to know anything.
In 05 i got my 1st computer, and was a newbie on all the MK forums, so i was lappng up as much info as possible.
For all my previous MK/DS gigs from 85 onwards, i never had a clue as to the setlists at all.
For the 2010 tour, for me, i can't wait till the RAH gigs. So i want to know EVERYTHING from the start!!! ;D

Cheers   BBB

I'll be going 3 nights in a row.  So I pretty  much will know the setlist for the next 2 nights.  I still in the "WANT TO KNOW CAMP" It's sort of give me time to prepare and anticipate the songs and the excitement of knowing in advance is just irresistable.  So, Please spoil me with the setlist.   ;)

LOL, Dusty, that doesn't apply because I don't get any - and yes, the ones I buy for myself I don't wrap them and try to forget what they are ;D

This explains a lot. ;)

Quote
Deferred gratification or delayed gratification is the ability to wait in order to obtain something that one wants. This attribute is known by many names, including impulse control, will power, and self control. In formal terms of accounting, an individual should calculate net present value of future rewards and defer near-term rewards of lesser value. Extensive research has shown that animals don't do this, but instead apply hyperbolic discounting, so this problem is fundamental to human nature.

Conventional wisdom considered good impulse control to be a personality trait important for life success. Daniel Goleman has suggested it is an important component of emotional intelligence. People who lack this trait are said to need instant gratification and may suffer from poor impulse control.

I am all for delayed gratification dusty, and I hate opening my presents before the big day either, but there is no way I can not follow Guy's diary from the begining, makes the show I am going to see last as long as the tour instead of 2 hours. And I don't want to be off facebook either.

This is the first time I am going to know before, I'll let you know which one is best!

It's a bit like knowing the sex of your baby before it's born, isn't it? Some want to know, others don't!

My point is, it takes all sorts, there is no good or bad.

I knew a couple in that situation. The mum wanted to know and the dad didn't, or the other way round. The mum managed to keep it secret until the end!
