DS Sydney 1986 covers
« on: December 28, 2022, 11:56:10 AM »
Hi all,
I've been meaning to post these here for the longest time! Some instrumental covers of DS in Sydney '86.

ToL:

BiA (this is a mix of Sydney '86 and the original):

WW:

I'm working on RAtR at the moment, and for the synth enthusiasts out there, I intend to use a Yamaha DX1 on the track, lucky me getting to play one! I actually asked Guy and Alan for advice on some of the synth patches, and they were very kind in their responses :)

Enjoy, thanks for listening in advance,
Pete

Haha, that's ok iorch82, thanks for listening and thanks for the kind words! Don't worry I get enough comments on Youtube, by far the most on my ToL video, which blows me away! For RAtR my favourite bit was getting to do it on a DX1 - I'm intending to do every song of Sydney '86, and will use that DX1 as much as I can! If only I could snag some of MK's guitars in his auction next year... may have to settle for the book...

Don't worry, the book is also the only thing I can [barely] afford in this auction ;D

Impressive work on this DX1. A lot of people can play the guitar, but once you try these keyboards man... You get a new perspective on why Guy Fletcher has worked with Mark for a million years now. Love your dedication to this 1986 show, a lot to like about it!

Yes, tremendous work, very impressive!  :clap :clap

Keyboard work sensational, and great to see and hear Jack's rhythm work. It really adds flavour to the end of RATR.

How about some singing?  :)

I love the Sydney show.

Interesting that there is an added chord progression at the beginning of the final section of RATR, as compared to the studio version. I think it goes A5, E5 - G5 - A5, B5, Em. It's included in the version above.
