I found that video this morning
Maybe you've seen/heard it before, but I found the analysis very interesting :

Very interesting commentary and I have to say listening to it with that person's insight and real interest brought me on the brink of tears. She got it at first listen and she managed to convey and express the emotions that I feel when listening to Brothers in arms. Very nice video indeed, that guitar is really something as she says.

There is a more in depth video which is a kind of "part II" here

"Guitar has a very vocal quality to it... it's so expressive and emotional and rich... the voice and the guitar are truly equal partners in this song"

That's exactly what I'm missing these days with his songs. Not that they are bad, the newer ones, but this interaction between his voice and his singing guitar pretty much throughout the song. If only I could have some of that again on the new record.

It's been a long time since Mark's playing has really moved me. Over the years it has become more and more routine-like, too simple, no risk-taking, and too much relying on some favorite stock licks. And I'm not talking about long, intense soloing. Being a MK fan this has frustrated me to no end.
