Yes I saw this one before but this version is much better.

Here is the other version

Yes, I have several times.  It's interesting to see DK sang for a change.  Although I don't think his voice is that good. MK seemed happy in this video.

of course it is, just like when DS were playing ToL in 1981 (?) in San Remo.

Dave's singing is terrible  :) especially in the beginning

I just can't listen to DK at all, sounds like somebody doing a bad impression of MK to me.

DKs voice on that record is bad. But it has become much better in the last years. Just listen to his latest albums.

I'm sure David thinks the same now about that performance, but why did Mark let him hang himself like that the voice is forced and mimicking. Maybe that's why Mark is laughing  ;)

Exactly Dusty, that what I thought too!  He tries to sing with that roughness in his voice that DK doesn't have (certainly on recent YouTube vids I've seen) but you just got to laugh. ;D

Strat61 ,

I think you were  right about Mark smiling and laughing.  I thought Mark looked really happy but in reality he laughed because DK singing was just so horrible.

But it was playback and there recorded it together in the studio I think. So why should he laugh on stage. I think really they just had fun. Or were stoned.  ;) Or both.

you know, to me they both look geniunely happy.

and please.. let's have some sympathy for david here.  he's a good musician too, only with the tragic burden of being the little brother of a true genius.  he wasn't bad at all and he does have that knopfler sound not only a bad immitation, but it's difficult to shine next to mark, you know.  it's nobody's fault.

I agree with you abaout David Knopfler. A good musician who will always be in shadow of his genious brother. Sure hope two of them made up and play once more together.
