Ok, I have a proposal that we stop these "I hate threads" coz it only causes semi conflict between people that are here mainly because of someone that they "like" as opposed to hate.

& I hate them anyway!!!!!
If it aint broke dont fix it!

Agree, hate is wrong. You like a person/his music/his art or not.
Both is ok, so I agree to stop this kind of posts. We can have discussions about whatever, it's just a matter of opinion, nothing personal, no offences. As far as we know we are all grown up, so we must be able to agree or disagree without personal feelings.

And we can tease a little as well, about the hairdressers of some men here  ;D
Or stupid and blond (ooooooops that's me  :P)
And also: how is it possible you like this or that music, he/she can't play/sing or whatever.
It is NOT personal, it's just opinion and provoke and tease a little.

So the word hate can be banned from this forum I guess  :D

Possibly, but I hate banning things. :)

I just want to say in public that I have sent BPDNEDCID a PM assuring him that I did not post this thread with a view to insulting him personally or antagonising him in any way and that I regret that he feels that I have set out to do so. I can go into more detail if necessary but I would like to give BPDNEDCID the opportunity to read my message first. :)

Hahaha Dusty, I hate or better say don't like banning things too, it makes me think of a certain Mr Important who I don't like  ;) Better said than I hate don't you think  ;D
By the way, hate is a word that can be used in different ways. I hate spiders was one of the threads and you can't imagine how much I agree with that. It happened once that my hubby wasn't at home and I went upstairs to go to bed and saw one. I went down again and slept on a couch with a jacket as blanket.
Let's say we ban the word hate when it refers to people.

And Dusty, we all know you didn't mean to insult someone or whatever. BPD I have to say I am sure he was just teasing you because we all know you like the music of Phil a lot.

So I think this thread went in the wrong direction while it wasn't meant this way, the two gentleman can mail/PM each other. An dour public discussions can go on as we are used to.

Well said, Ingrid.    A funny joke can go so south!     Do you guys in Europe use that phrase?   When something "goes south"  it goes bad, it gets screwed up.

And now I'll respect Pottel's 'amen.'    No more energy spent where it doesn't need to be.    But Ingrid, I love spiders!!!!!!!

Living in the country, we are plagued with mosquitos.   Spiders and bats are a great helps.   :D
There was an old song years ago that went "I don't like spiders and snakes, but that ain't what it takes to love me, like I wanna be loved by you."     I still smile when I hear it.

Ok BPD, you made your point as well. I can see your point of view, but I strongly recommend to believe me when I say Dusty was just teasing you. I met him last year personally, I know him from the forums for years and he is not stupid nor mean. Maybe having a little strange hairdresser  ;D but it seems that's a kind of fashion among the male fans of MK  :D

So now this discussion has to end. I hope you both agree to disagree (thanks for these words Pottel, they are very useful now).

And I totally agree with you, as I mentioned before that we should not use the word hate referring to people at all in this forum.

The end of your e-mail sounds very good to me: peace, shake virtual hands now and let's go on!
There's a lot of funny, emotional and important stuff to discuss!

Love and peace Ingrid

OK, PM sent to BPD, but just to address a couple of points, firstly as I have said, this thread was just a joke response to thr Eric Clapton thread, I actually devised the list in 2005 and posted it on another site that I post on, here it is:

http://www.aberdeen-music.com/forums/447295-post15.html

Four years ago. I just cut and pasted it across for a joke after the Clapton thread, no attempt to antagonise BPD.

Here is part of it:

When Dusty posted the first comment in which he stated that he felt safe posting the Thread because I was away on vacation, how can one not see the obvious implication by making such a statement?  Of course I am going to assume he meant for me not to be able to see or respond to the Thread until later.  Wouldn't you?  He mentioned me by name.

Again, just a joke, hence the smilie. Just acknowledging the fact that you were a Phil fan. I didn't know anything about Phil's music saving your life or whatever. I knew you were on holiday yes, but for all I knew you could have been looking at the forum in your hotel.

The whole thing was just a joke, I understand that you have been upset by it, but as far as I am concerned you have misinterpreted my actions and motives on this one, hopefully you can accept this.

    Let's move on.

Agreed, I just want to respond to BPD's final post first.

You said

Of course I can accept this.  That said, I want to re-iterate (mostly to everyone else here as a means of clarification) that when Dusty replied to my "ten reasons," he did so with an air of "who cares?"  In fact, he said "So what?" in response to my first reason... and my first reason has everything to do with how and why Phil's music helped heal me.  That is primarily what I take issue with, as I would not do something like that to others here.  At that very point in the thread, Dusty seemed to be jabbing directly at me, turning a "fun joke" of a Thread into a more personal attack, regardless of what the intent was when the Thread was started.

But your actual first response was:

1. He allowed his personal suffering (from the divorce of his first wife) to directly affect the mood and lyrics of his first solo album, FACE VALUE.
