Newcastle Meet
« on: May 13, 2019, 12:08:38 AM »
Does anyone know where we are going to meet up in Newcastle pre-show?  I recall last time we went back to the Jury's Inn for drinks but pre-show we were miles away.  It was a nice tour we had but I'd like to be a little nearer hand this time.  Any recommendations?  How's the Victoria Comet across from the station?  I think that's the Get Carter pub, isn't it?

I'll have a wee look for pubs recommended with good food (a lot of pub grub is awful microwave junk) and near the venue.  If our Geordie friend knows better though, feel free to recommend somewhere.

Perhaps The Quayside, Close.  Seems nice but it's difficult to pick a pub in Newcastle with the city being so popular for hen/stag dos.  It's a 15min walk along the river but there's no music played so good for conversation.  Unfortunately it's a Wetherspoon so food will be merely edible but you know what you get with a Wetherspoon pub.

That Weatherspoons is decent and not too far from the Arena. Was in it just last week and the food was fine.

Cool!  So The Quayside it is then!  Usual meet time 16:00 okay?

I should arrive at Newcastle train station at 15:07 from Leeds.  Only need to check into my hotel (Jury's Inn) and make my way along.
