About MK Gear
« on: January 27, 2018, 08:31:15 PM »
Hello comunnity, first sorry for my bad english, i´m from Argentina.
I´m a 16 years old fan of DS
I´ve already investigate about the pedals setuo that MK used during the tours with DS.
Any knows what overdrive/distortion he used in songs like You and your fried, Money for nothing, Calling Elvis..
I hope that someone can help me
Thanks in advance

This is a great website about MK’s gear:
http://www.mk-guitar.com

He gets his overdriven/distorted sounds from his amps, not so much from pedals. I believe he used two TS9’s daisy chained during the KTGC promo tour in 2008.

Hey Terry! I'm not very sure about the DS tours but I do know that he keeps his effects to a minimum nowadays and the only pedal I see him use is the volume pedal. About You and Your Friend, Ingo Raven seems to think he used a Les Paul '84, but I'm pretty sure he used the MK1 with reverb and a bit of compression, but I could be wrong.

And welcome to the forum!

There's another sheet of amp/fx settings floating around on the internet but I can't find it ATM.

In any case if you want to emulate the sound the order of importance is 1) Same amp 2) Same guitar 3) Same Effects

Only for distorted tones. You can get the Strat tone with pretty much any Strat and any amp.
