Some very, very sad news.
« on: June 02, 2009, 03:17:28 PM »
I have some very, very sad news to report.

Some of you may remember that Waterline Man won a competition through GF's forum last year to attend a meet and greet. He very kindly took myself and ubhal as his guests. BBB came second and along with BBB's father we all went to the M&G before the Newcastle gig last year.

There wasn't actually going to be a "full" M&G at this show with the band playing etc, but they arranged it so that MK could present an award to a real local hero, a kid from Newcastle called Bradley Downes who had been battling cancer.

The local news station featured it and I stuck it on youtube.

Somebody has just left a comment on my youtube page to say that Bradley passed away in March.  :'(

This really is very sad, he was a very sweet little kid. RIP Bradley.

Dusty, That is very sad news indeed.  He seemed a really sweet and brave little boy.  I am so sorry for his parents and family.

I just can't believe it. :'(
I was standing right next to him when Mark presented him with the Brave Heart Award.
He truley was a brave young man.
My thoughts are with his parents and his family.

Drunk and dressed in their best brown baggies and their platform soles.

:( :'( Sad  news, indeed. I'm glad that he got to meet his hero though. Thanks for posting Dusty. I remember the story at the time and what brings it closer to AMIT is that you guys were there in the background as MK presented the award. It

I'm very sorry.   It breaks my heart every time when a child dies of cancer.
But a spoonful of forgiveness
Goes a long, long way
And we all should do our best
To get along

Thank you for posting Dusty!

I agree with everybody, a child shouldn't have to suffer because of cancer or other terrible illness and die. It isn't honest!

It's terrible. My thoughts are with his parents, other family members and friends.
