Sultans of 15th July 1985 - Awesome version
« on: May 08, 2016, 02:52:40 PM »
Today i listened the concert of 15th July 1985 at Wembley, and that version of SOS (for me) was awesome..the guitar of Mark, the singing, and other things.. Tell me your opinions about this version
I don´t need to be the king of rock; because i´m the Sultan of Swing.

Was it the one broadcasted as "Wembley 1985"?
I know they had a couple of concerts at wembley in 1985.
SOS versión was great and had some unique phrases

A couple!  A record 13 consecutive nights to be exact. :)
"...and I blew up the radio in pretty short order."

I knew there were some DS wembleys in july 1985. As the broadcasted concert was the 6th might,  was it the best one?
Where can I see some of the other 12 nights?

Is also my favourite version. But in the on every street tour we have a lot version a bit powerful than 1985, sure that Terry on drums is another story, but the final is more beatiful. On tube it easy find the final part of Rotterdam 1991..very awesome.

SOS versions have changed a lot from 1970s to 2016.
1985/86 versions were great, I only saw the broadcasted SOS of wembleys. It was not his best gigs.
Live aid versión was stronger
I like SOS 1985 american leg versions. San Antonio,  niagara falls, texas
And the OES versions with the Pensa.
Before OES tour, Mandela's versión was  flawless and the final solo a pearl
