Nice one, didn't know about that, looks good.

I see Ingo posts there, for me his blog is the best resource on everything MK related:

http://www.mk-guitar.com/blog/

His youtube videos are also great, Stefan Price does some good ones too.

I don't really bother trying to "copy" MK so much now, I prefer trying to find my own "sound", although it's still very MK influenced. I have the MK Strat (wrong coloured version!) and a Crate VC5212 as used in the Goldne Heart era.

I think MK's basic strat sound is pretty easy to get close to using any strat, a decent clean amplifier and your fingers. I say close - people like Ingo and Stefan Price can get it down really well.

The Les Paul sound is a lot harder to get. I have a Les Paul Standard, I can get reasonably close by using the neck pickup and rolling the tone off a bit. I think it's best not to use too much gain - much better to crank the amp loud and get a bit of natural distortion going.

You can have a listen to the track "Strange As Fiction" to hear me doing my best MK rip off on my MK strat - I can't give you a time on the track unfortunately as myspace seems to be doing something wierd to the songs:

Dusty, I have just listened to the three songs on myspace and, once again, I am really impressed!   "Sweetest Smile" is a lovely song, this time an acoustic version, although I liked the electric one very much too!  What more can I say, except keep on playing!  ;D  BTW Emma's voice is beautiful - do you still play together?

Thanks Val, I don't really get a chance to play much at all these days, too busy with Dusty Jr, but Emma plays a lot of gigs in Edinburgh and I'm hoping to sit in with her soon.

She plays solo gigs down your way quite a lot Val, her dates are on her "solo" myspace:

thanks for the info and links dusty , like the tracks very soothing .At the mo i'm using my sig strat with peter florance pickups in and through a fender blues junior for the clean early stuff and a new road worn 50's strat for the ktgc stuff as the trem is active on it and it sounds very deep and warm.a les paul standard with seymore  duncan seth lover pups in through a blackstar ht5 head and am getting a pretty good knopf tone as the sd pups are low output as they would be in his 58 ,considering getting a 58 reissue but hav'nt found one i like yet and my standard sounds so nice anyway so why change
