Have you seen the new Virgin Atlantic "still red hot"advert on the tv celebrating their 25 years in business?????

If you stop it at 31 seconds theres a guy brousing in a record shop & he has a copy of Big Country's Steeltown in his hand - a 33 1/3 record :o :o WOW :oAAAAAGGGHHHH the 80's :P.

Pity its not DS or MK,but as you'll see from my earlier post IMO Big Country are easily one of the best bands to come out of Scotland during that era. I wonder if Richard Branson is a Big Country fan ::) ::)

I was already playing guitar (inspired by several country-blues-rock'n'roll artists) when I listened to MK for the first time in 1990 on the NHB record (vinyl LP).
After a while I discovered he was famous as the leader of a band named "Dire Straits".
They just released "On Every Street" and I bought it!
I liked it very much, the sounds, the songs, everything, it was not only for the guitar.
Meanwhile I found the "Money For Nothing" compilation on a cassette.....
But...I completely fell in love with MK guitar style (and I decided to learn it!) watching "Alchemy live" VHS video: I remember I watched it 4 times running!!!  ;D
After that I decided to complete the official discography as well as exchange many bootlegs cds and videos.  :)
I went to see DS/MK playing live in:
1992 DS - Stadium - Cava dei Tirreni, Italy
2001 MK - Tennis Stadium - Rome, Italy
2005 MK - Palalottomatica - Rome, Italy
2006 MK & EH - Arena - Verona, Italy
2008 MK - Pesaro, Italy

Cheers
Angelo
