are you the "Tomy" who asked here ?:

http://www.mk-guitar.com/?s=southbound+again&x=0&y=0

if yes, the link won't help you, if not it will maybe give you some hints, but no many details

It's very painful to analyse right hand movements in detail, but obviously it's a combination of thumb and first two fingers. Not very helpful I know but if you can nail songs like Southbound / Setting Me Up and Walk Of Life then you're well on your way.
There would be no one 'correct' way, as with southbound you need to flick your two fingers backwards on the upstroke, but you also use your thumb occasionally too - at least I do, I think !!?!

Good luck mate!
Hey, i`ve got a truffle dog - finally a song the ordinary man can relate too!

i took your advice and listened carefully at the strumming pattern over and over again (especially you Ingo...)
and i believe i got the general feel of the tune which seems to me like 5 x x 7 x 5 5 5...

thanks,
tomy
