Privateering is slowed down
« on: July 02, 2013, 11:40:11 PM »
I was just listening to the recording from Geneve 2011, and I noticed that Privateering is slowed down if you compare it to the 2013 version. I must say I like the 2011 version better :) Anybody noticed that too?

That's a coincidence because I listened to Rome 2011 the other day too and noticed the same thing!  However, I prefer it now because I think Mike has done something with the pipes to make them sound better and give it more, i don't know, texture? :-\

That could be true yes. I like the pipes better this tour btw. The drums have changed too. More cymbals and a slightly different drumming. Quite interesting..

For unknown reasons, I like it better this tour. CBC as well sounds better.
Maybe having a less powerful set makes the less brilliant tunes shine a little more.

Yes I find myself surprinsingly liking average songs like CBC or IUTC... when at a show (not that much when listening to a recording).

Myself I also prefer the 2013 version. Could not stand the 2011 one. Interestingly the ending jamming part is excellent when Glen switch from double bass  to electric.
