Just thought I should open a new thread for Bob Dylan. It is long overdue, for all Dylan fans.
Let me start with this:
It is the We are the world Dylan vocals rehearsals and recordings. In this song only Dylan and Ray Charles get a solo spot that actually shows extra respect for the person and his contribution in music. You have Bruce Springsteen and Stevie Wonder doing extra lines, but they were the hot stuff back then, unlike Dylan. The DVD has this extra track with Dylan rehearsing and it is beautiful. It shows a man out of his usual game, that turns to Stevie Wonder often to ask for him to just play piano so he can get the grasp of it. And every time he sings it everybody saying "Perfect" and such, but he always goes "It wasn't any good, let's do it again" And the body language, wow, he looks so uncomfortable. I don't know if it is the cameras or the vast studio or so many people or the actual song that is crafted with nice backing vocals...
