And thanks for checking on Santa Barbara... such a bummer it is not recorded!  That was my first MK concert, and I'd love to have it.  Well, if nothing else, it does get me thinking about trying to record the shows I am going to this summer... :think
That's a great idea Lis. It's really worth a try. You never know, sometimes you're the only one who managed to tape something. :thumbsup
By the way, it's makes me realize the tour is only one month ahead  ;D and I should start updating my gear in case I have to go somewhere last minute. :think  ::)
Thanks, tunnel!  I will start looking into this.  I think I read a thread somewhere where a couple recorders were suggested.  Do you (or others) have any recommendations?
Many people have a Tascam (DR-05-, DR-07, DR-08) or a Zoom (H2, H1 or H4n) or a Sony PCM-M10 or an Edirol R-09. Maybe new models/brands saw the light recently...
It's a pretty convenient all-in-one solution for basic taping. I mean any of those models is small, portable, hidable and good enough to provide a decent recording.
Which one to buy ?  I would say anyone is fine for basic taping.
I have a DR-07 because it was the first I could find at a reasonable price.

Of course you can upgrade your gear with external microphones and premp but I would suggest to do it easy the first time.
Just now seeing your reply, tunnel -- thanks for the info!!!
Now, before I go shopping, does this all change with news about official recordings.  That is, will audience recording be no longer "tolerated" (for lack of a better word)??
If you ain’t got whiskey

This is exactly the kind of thing I've been posting about on another thread.  Many people will be thinking the same thing and others will think that they will just purchase the stick for their gig and not bother to record it themselves.  The same happened as soon as the Simfy recordings came on the scene;  the number of available bootlegs rapidly decreased to somewhere between zero and nil.

There will always be bootleggers and no one can stop us.  It will state on the ticket that it's not within the venue's rules to record the show anyway but that's never stopped anyone before.
"...and I blew up the radio in pretty short order."
