MK wins Lifetime Achievement Award at the 57th Annual Ivor Novello Awards

Freddie Mercury won this award for writing Killer Queen, either the same year or soon after.

Congrats to MK,  a great honour.

However,  part of me is uncomfortable; they give these type of awards to people who are past t.  FMK is at the top of his game.
Peter O'Toole has been offered an honourary Oscar a few times but declined,  as he still thinks he can win a "real" one.

Never ever heard of this award, but nice to see MK got it, though. 

Really? It's one of the most prestigious awards a songwriter can get to be honest. What is so nice about this award is that it is not given out my record companies or publishers like most other awards. This award is totally from songwriters & music writing industry folks themselves. It's a great award to receive. I believe Mark has got one before for the track "Local Hero" nearly 30 years ago but this award is just superb to be acknowledged for.

is it the same organisation that did the knebworth shows? (silver cleff thingy..)

I think it has something to do with The Performing Rights Society. The same people who put the plaque up in Deptford and who Guy Fletchers Uncle is or was the head of.
