Someone at NBC-TV News here in the U.S. may be a Knopfler fan.
During the first half hour of a "Dateline" episode tonight, with Brian Williams walking the halls and doing interviews at our congressional houses, background music included the guitar intro to "You and Your Friend," a bar or two of the start of "Don't You Get It," and what I think was the drum intro to "Cannibals." Couldn't hear that part too well, but I think that's what it was. I think they just played something from "Wag the Dog," too.
Anyway, it wasn't the usual "Money for Nothing" stuff that everybody knows, so I'd guess there's someone on the NBC News staff that knows their Mark Knopfler.
