I had just flown to Canada, and family member told me when I got off the plane, I was really shocked, and worried for him, and it was weird because it was the only time in his solo career that i had not already bought a ticket to see him live, I don't remember why, but I do find that weird.
Knopfler, Oldfield and Gilmour is all the guitar I need.

Hmm, I'm trying really hard to remember where I first read the news. Was it on the official MKNews site?  ???
However, I do remember sending a text message to man on a track after I read it.

I remember that text message very well! I was serving in the army that week when I got those news. Don't want to remember how many tickets I've had back then...

And yes Dusty, the Nigel Kennedy replacement was the worst thing I've ever been through.
Also agree on what you said about EC...
Additionally, I had a very bad seat high up in the back and I remember having fallen asleep at some point  :disbelief

Shame I didn't know you were there, meeting up for a beer would have been the highlight of that trip.

At least you managed to get a seat next to me two years later.  :)

Very true!

But I think we didn't know (of) each other back then ;)
I met up with Peter Gordon then - I don't even know if he's in this forum...
Lost contact somehow  :(

That beer in Edinbourgh in 2005 was one of the best beers I've ever had!  :D
That whole trip, show, evening was terrific!

Ah, well we almost met up then because I was in contact with Peter too, I spoke to him via mobile phone but for some reason or other we couldn't meet, I think I was meeting some friends or something. Haven't spoken to him for a couple of years, used to trade a lot with him but of course I get everything from trackers now, last time I spoke to him he told me he preferred snail mail trading. :)

I remember spending the evening with some friend in Valencia, talking about the next tour, that for the spanish fans, used to have their concerts in summer, was kind of soon (the tour was about to start in april in Lisbon, and then Madrid) and we had a strange feeling like we didn
