Best sounding STP Tour concert ?
« on: June 04, 2021, 05:48:02 PM »
Hi all,
maybe I'm overlooking, but I don't find a STP Tour topic....so I'll post question here....correct me if I'm wrong.

I was re-listening to Vaison 1996 concert and fell in love with the sound again  :)

What is the best sounding recording of a (full) concert of the Sailing To Philadelphia Tour 2001 ?
Is there one with same quality of the Vaison concert from the Golden Heart Tour ?

Thanks for any info !

The Golden Demos CD contains a few songs from Hamburg (16/06/2001) It's a pity that only a few songs but the quality is great.

If you're looking for the best sounding recording of the 2001 tour, it'll be Hamburg 2001. It was broadcasted on radio but it also happened to be the shortest setlist of the tour. There are other soundboard recordings but they are either not as good as Hambourg - I'm only talking about sound here - or they are incomplete. The IEM from Los Angeles can be a nice compromise with an interesting setlist.

Thank you for the info - too bad the Hamburg recording is not available on KnopflerTK....
