Yes, there are two versions of a musical project called "K Wallis B and the Dark Shades of Night".
Released as a 7-Inch single and as a 12-Inch single through Vertigo-Records UK in 1987.
The songs are: Diamonds (Jerry Lordan) / Main Title Theme (The Man with the Golden arm) (Elmer Bernstein).
"K Wallis B and the Dark Shades of Night" are some Dire Straits musicians, which had recorded that single. Bandmembers are: John Illsley (Bass and Production), Terry Williams (Drums), Chris White (Saxophone), Stuart Brooks (Trumpet), Pete Beachill (Trombone), Phil Palmer (Guitar), Albert Boekholt (Keyboards) and Alan Clark (Hammond Organ).
The sound is a little bit with Jazz-flavour. Nice tunes.
Does somebody knows more about that production and the circumstances of the existence of that "Side-Band" to Dire Straits ??
I own the 7-Inch record as UK-edition.
