I remember when this first came out on the tv.
My dad taped it. I must of watched it a couple of times a week for months.
I still watch it from time to time.
It's 'RAW' MK/DS at it's best.
GREAT live versions of some early songs.
Also some great interviews with the orig DS lineup. :) :)
I love the bit where Mark is talking about how he writes down the lyrics for some of his songs in a note book.

A MUST WATCH for lovers of early DS.!!!!!!!!!

Great 'Twisting by the pool' video too. All band members with their hair slicked back. 8) 8) 8) 8) ;D

Great video.  I'm sure I have this somewhere on DVD, but not of this quality.  Not even sure I have the whole thing.

Anyone got this on DVD in this quality?

Check out this one too!  Dire Straits HDTV - Chorus TV  1978

I have never seen this one before.  Mark's guitar playing is amazing on all songs, especially Eastbound Train!   :P

The version that is doing the rounds on DVD is good quality, but it has Israeli subtitles or something?

I recorded it on VHS in about 1997 from VH1 here in the UK. I've transferred it to DVD, obviously it's not as good quality as the one with subtitles, but the subtitles aren't there. I was thinking of adding it to the tracker at some point to give people a choice.

As well as the Arena film and the Chorus gig on YouTube, I noticed that the whole of Rockpalast '79 was available also.  I always understood that clips were limited to 10 minutes and that long clips were split into part 1 and part 2, but it seems that whole programmes are permitted now.  Is this something new?   ???

Rockpalast is great because its a full performance capture and a great setlist but I don't find that Mark was especially in a good night on that one.
