In the February issue of Classic & Sports Car Mick Walsh writes in his retrospective of 2012:

"MOST JEALOUS OF Mark Knopfler for producing such a sublime album - Privateering - and racing his Ace at Donington with de Cad... Could I have some tickets for the tour please?"

 ;D

You can see his beautiful AC Ace here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tristartech/7152405417/in/set-72157629989419939

Seen that car at Silverstone and MK practising, thought car broke down before actual race!  Think I sent a pic to AMIT
My husband has seen MK racing at Goodwood in 2001 in his Maserati and got his signature on programme.

You're a car fan??

 :)

Indeed, I have such a weak spot for vintage and classic cars. One of my guilty pleasures in addition to the music. Guess it's time for a thread about MK and his cars?!

Justme, I don't know if you or other new people have been watching these videos. If you didn't then I think you might enjoy it as much as I do!  :P

Great stuff.  Really enjoyed watching these.  Thanks  Fieneke.

P.S.  He said the switches on Mark's 300s were like those on a Leica camera and Mark agreed! :D

Thanks Fieneke, for posting the videos. The second isn`t available in my country..the old game...must be a song in it, that is in property of the GEMA  ;) !
For me this car races seem to be very dangerous, without a car-roof ! Good for us, that he stopped doing these races  ;) !
@dmg, yes, he obviously knows Leica, maybe he possesses one  ;D .

You all are welcome!  ;)

These videos were 6 years ago upload by Tommy and I am glad about that! It is great that so many fans of Mark share
their information so others can learn and watch as well! ;D

Mark's sure in his element talking about all these classic's.  He is really knowledgeable about them all to the point of obsessive!  I think it's nice to see that actually;  it's very obviously a good hobby for him.  I wonder if he ever stops to think that people out there - namely us - are just as obsessive about him and his music... :think

I'd love too, but being from Germany it will be impossible to do Goodwood this year as it's too far away. I do sincerely hope that it fits better into my 2014 schedule though.
