I have no idea what this song might be about. Who is the kingdom of gold? Who looks down on the river? Any suggestions? I guess about money market, isn't the City of London the financial district with its own laws and stuff? Or am I on a total wrong track here?

Don't you think there is a special meaning in the scottish flavoured music part? I wonder if that is really about the US stuff... MK seldom uses this randomly, it must have a certain relation to the theme of the song...

Yes LE you have a point there. I wonder if it is from his own Scottish background perspective of the event.
I just based my idea on the lyrics, which could also be as you say taken right out of the History of William Wallace. Mark has linked past history with present events before "Iron Hand". Hope we get his own view on this one as with previous releases.
