although I don't believe in  a such story, I always found it fascinating.

all of these clues are uncanny.

Some years ago, I read that somebody tried to call to the phone number you get when turning the magical mystery tour sleeve in a miror.
Somebody answered and told : "your near the truth....." thrilling isn't it ?   

by the way, there is (at least) one clue which is real :
on the sergent pepper pic where "Paul" is back, it's indeed NOT Paul, as he was not here for the photo sessions (in the US I believe, but not sure), but they were late for the release, so they had to finish the cover sleeve.

Well, in fact, that's what I read....

That's so funny after all these years that the story is still on.

Even Paul himself did a reference to it on his 1993 record "Paul is Live", paroding the AB Road cover with original licence plate renumbered to "51 IS" instread of the "28 IF".

But the real deal is that John Lennon is still alive. He came yesterday thake a cuppa in my living room and asked if he could bing Elvis with him...

I believe that such strong myths usually are initiated or encouraged by the persons in question, for many reasons, -attention and sales being the obvious ones-.The McCartney myth is somehow unique, because unlike Elvis, Jackson and many others that after their "alleged" death, disappeared only to be seen accidentally, Paul claimed to be alive and well, so obviously we have a double taking his place. The deeper reason for this unconfirmed rumours, was the enormous change in the sound of the band, mainly because of the new Paul, and the more than obvious differences in some facial characteristics, comparing rubber soul cover photo with later ones. And of course the fact that the new Paul was 4 cm taller and married to Linda.
As a matter of fact many musicians are replaced with doubles and there is usually a 1-2 year gap in their public appearances and then an obvious lack of the talent they have shown in the past. Clapton, Dylan, Knopfler, Waters,Bowie and many others have gone through such a procedure in order to live a simple life away from the frenzy of rock stardom and lifestyle. 
And that is how a myth is created.

2 weeks ago, some friends went at home for dinner.
I had met him only once so didn't notice someting special.

as background music for the dinner, I put (guess what...) Privateering
My daughter said "hey dad, it's Mark Knopfler isn't it ?"

And the friend said :"ah it's my double ! "  ("sosie" in french)

and indeed, yes ! this new friend looks like Mark !
even my wife noticed that (well after he said it ) !

Maybe should I advise him to contact Guy ?

A couple of years back, there was this discussion about the ressemblance between Johnny Borrell and the youg MK. I actually haven't seen any similarity, but the story went on and even the Doc admited he was amazed... At least I recon that Borrell looks more like MK than his own son, Ben.

twm, there are some factors that are rarely kind with humans. First and foremost, time. Then habits, good or bad. Then bad shooting light and bad haircut. Even though I couldn't find the date of the first video, it must be over 10 years, so in her twenties, while the second is quite recent. People change. And the light in the first one (which I like and prefer) is dim so you leave much to the imagination. And it doesn't have to work overtime because she is cute.
