Dublin is coming nearer, appointments
« on: September 26, 2011, 11:38:24 PM »
Ok guys, time for threads for every concert to make appointments and so on.
I am going to Dublin, some more are going.
Who is going? Are we going to meet before the concert and where?

What's the best way to go to the O2-arena from St. Stephens Green where my hotel (and also the place where marky49 is staying) is? And after the concert, are people feeling for a drink and where?

Hope to meet a lot of you.
Ingrid

Hi MB, you are the only one we will meet???
Cannot imagine that.

Where will you sleep? I will at St Stephens Green, that's at the end of the main shopping street, around 15 minutes walk from Temple Bar. I don't know if there's a place near the O2-arena where we can meet??
Please Dubliners help us!

MB check your pm, I will give you my mobile number so we can stay in contact.
Send me yours too. I arrive in Dublin at 13.40, so will have checked in at my hotel around 15.00 and then a pint  ;D

I cant make it tomorrow, just too much on at the moment plus we have one person on holidays at work & another off tomorrow so its the first time missing MK in Dublin for years - s**t, but sure it could be worse. I hadnt bought a ticket as I knew they would be freely available with the gig being on a Thursday night & I had an idea all along that I wouldnt make it,kids back to school,a 3 1/2 hr drive to Dublin & back because of work etc & then only half a MK gig,it just didnt fit for me.For anyone thats going have a great night & drink a few cold ones for me.
Ingrid if you are staying in Stephens Green you will need to walk down Grafton St towards the city centre to get to Temple Bar,its only about 10 mins walk at the most,on the way down Grafton Street you will see a turn to the left which has a statute of Phil Lynott & MK stayed in the hotel just behind that the last time he was over fot the GL tour, maybe they will stay there again???When you get to the end of Grafton St which is pedestrianised you keep going straight towards the city towards O Connell bridge & youll see Trinity College on your right hand side, keep on the left side of the road & youll pass Bank Of Ireland on the left, just past that  & theres a turn to the left, take that turn & it wil bring you straght into the Temple Bar area - hope that helps if you get to read this. The O2 is about a 10 min walk down the river towards the port - standing on O Connell bridge looking up at the Spire (youll know what it is when you see it) take a right & keep the river on your right hand side, dont bother taking a taxi as it will take you ages in the traffic & its a nice walk if its not raining plus theres plenty beer at the venue :P :P
If it aint broke dont fix it!

Thanks a lot WM, I know the citycentre and Templebar  :P, but didn't know the venue was that near.
It's a pity we don't meet WM, hopefully next tour.
Thanks for the extended answer again.

No probs Ingrid, its a pity Dublin is SO FAR AWAY from me (pun intended),its nearly easier for you to get there than me,believe it or not its actually easier & quicker for me to get to London than Dublin - well meet next time.Have a good time & watch out for the leprechauns, they do exist you know :o :o &&&&&&&& dont forget the review,we'll be waiting ;)
