Last month I made an interview for the french media franceinfo with the french guitarist Denys Lable who played on many french records.
we talked a lot about guitars, guitarists... and he told me something about Mark :
in 1989, Denys Lable and french singer Francis Cabrel played and sung on an album by Spencer Bohren, a musician living in Louisiana.
They did two tunes : "Full Moon" and "Disappearing Nightly" on which Denys Lable played the solo, mostly on slide :

Spencer Bohren gaves him congratulations for his solo, saying he was a "killer"
Denys was very honoured when he heard in 2004 the Bill Wyman's version with Mark on lead guitar.
The key has changed, and Mark doesn't play slide, but you can hear the same flavour, and obviously, Wyman, Lee and MK listened to the original version for inspiration

It's one of my favourite MK collaborations, in fact I have Bill Wyman in my "to listen" list as soon as I remember when I open the Amazon music app and I think "what the h*ll I wanted to listen? Can't remember!", Lol

Spencer was so great. I first saw him in this StewMac video where he gives a killer guitar lesson and repairs his own guitar.

Here is my article, but I did not insert MK's anecdote:

I'll be blunt: Mark's solo is sh*t compared with the original. I hear better and more original playing at our local blues jam sessions. Seriously. To use Mark's own words: lifeless, old toss.

Funny.
That album is by a Swedish blues artist named Totta Naslund and his band by the late 80s.
