Hey everyone!
Does anyone know if Mark speaks German? I was just listening to the Berlin SBD and he spoke a few sentences in German, just as he did in 1980 in Dortmund or Cologne 1979. Did he have German lessons as kid in school or maybe picked it up from his father (although Hungarian would be more likely).
My guess is he can speak and understand a little but maybe not fluently.

From my experience successful and wealthy people often, as they have much more free time than us, they learn more, know more and do more stuff in general, often it means they know some languages, have a time to go to the gym every day, read for hours, etc. So by no means I wouldn't be surprised about Mark knowing French, German or Italian at least a little bit. I would be surprised he actually don't know any of these fine languages :lol

Is it unlikely that he had German lessons during his school years?
-
I read somewhere quite recently that Mark's father read Der Spiegel at home, so I would be surprised if Mark didn't know some German, even if it's just a smattering.

You are right, I still have a copy of that interview!
He also said that he likes the saxonian dialect.

I heard MK telling sentences in Spanish, Italian, French, German and other languages during concerts, when in Spain, also in the languages of the region he's playing, like Catalán (in Barcelona), Gallego (when in Santiago or Coruña...)
I guess someone tell him what he has to say and he learnt it for the gig.

Phil Collins gives all his speechs in the language of the country he is playing, he has some notes and read them!
