After this concert it's a week off before heading to Norway/Sweden.. could this week mean some rehearsing again and a few new songs in the set?
Still wishing HFB make it's way back although is doesn't fit the brass...
We have seen some picture at some of Guy's monitor with the titles of BOTDF, TM.. maybe these will feature.. i don't know, but the feeling says it's the same set still, although that week off could give them time to rehearse some new things to the set... :hmm

Unless the stone in which they wrote the setlist gets broken... I won't bet any single penny on it

Thanks Superval....Hopefully her appointment with the surgeon will be soon and then it will be a step forward to eliminating the pain...

I wish Mrs Knopflerfan a good recovery.
Regarding setlist change, last time Mark made some quite late during the European leg so why not?
Things seems to be pretty well oiled now and leave some room for a newbie.

I do recal him saying they wanted to give Nigel some more credits. He was not on many songs during the tracker tour so they desided to play YLT.
This time i have a feeling setlist is written in stone untill the end of the tour.........

Based on the Youtube videos Poypystar was there, but I don´t know if he is here?
-
Poupystar says:
Same setlist as the night before (OES and BIA).
Superb sound (just behind Bordeaux) and performance (even better than RAH #2). In his top 3 this year.
Those who know Poupystar and his very high standards of demand will appreciate this praise :)

Now a one week break...

hello , really enjoyed lastnight, was slightly at the side so sound was in and out, like not picking up guys keyboard, mikes uillian pipes on bornaparte , some times marks guitar too low, but think that was position not sound,i really enjoyed it , marks getting in his stride, nice to hear brothers again, another stella version of mfn , ask someone to stop filimg in the middle of why aye man

Also wondering...Are they cutting that out of the (usb) recording? Otherwise we have in more shows when you listening to the concert again, in the middle of a song... “can you stop please filming?!” ::)

Since they could "cut out", or shall we say, forget to add Guy's vocals at the start of MFN on one recording, they should be able to remove those words by MK...

Now a one week break...
Richard confirms there all having a week off and gone their separate ways. Don’t expect any set list changes next month ...

It's just MK's fault. If he was releasing some dvds from his tours, fans wouldn't need to film the shows themselves...

I was there for my only concert of the tour. This is what I put in the MK fans Facebook page.
Well if that was my last time watching MK live, and I really hope it wasn't, he certainly went out with a bang. Won't say anything about the setlist details as I don't want to spoil it for those still to see him that don't want to know. Suffice to say, a great mix and you definitely won't be disappointed. 🎸😁
The whole band sounded great and the brass section certainly takes the sound to another dimension. Incidentally Graham Blevins on 🎷 👏 👏 the best since Chris White.
Mark played probably even better than the last couple of tours if that's possible.
Definitely going to get the download.
Also now I've been to see him, looking forward to reading back over all the posts about the DTRW tour and seeing what he's played elsewhere.
Sound and lighting was superb. I was sitting in the back tiered block so a long way from the stage so obviously not a great view.
Personal favourites for me were My Bacon Roll, sounded so much better live and hearing OUATITW live. Casting my mind back over the last 35 years to try and remember if I've ever seen him play that live but don't think I have. Simply stunning.

The whole thing seems so bizarre to me. He never used to care, in fact, MK has always been one of the more generous artists in terms of allowing recording of any kind. I remember a while back PCM said something along the lines of fans complaining that it was ruining the show for them. The irony is, I find nothing more distracting than the way MK responds. And there seems to be no rhyme or reason to when it irritates him. I remember a few tours ago in Milwaukee when he took his hands off the guitar and refused to play until security stopped a guy. It was so painfully awkward, and the only part of the show that stands out in my memory. Perhaps he has spent some time with Don Henley, whom I have also seen completely stop a show because someone had a phone out.
That having been said, I do understand how distracting it can be to fans. In fact, I have been upset with people around me, even in the front row, for trying to talk to me the entire show (Dayton and Ann Arbor years ago). I wanted to scream but just kept shrugging my shoulders and tried to enjoy the show. If you have to yell over Mark's guitar, you shouldn't be talking lol. Also, I used to take a lot of photos, but found I felt afterwards that I missed most of the show, so I only take a few anymore.
The bottom line though, it will never stop. Its the world we live in now :-/

Well, they posted the recording policy on MK.com prior to the tour start which was nothing new really...
So yes, filming will probably continue rest of the tour. However, fans should show respect to each other. If someone wants to film everything, fine, but keep the arms down and allow other people around to watch the concert with good view as well.
I will of course take photos and maybe some recording, but without the flash and the arms down.... I guess MK and the rest have nothing against this either, people just need to think on how they are shooting pics/recording... :thumbsup

Or it’s the other way around: No official video releases because the filming ruins the market.

If that was true, we would have more official video releases. But nowadays there’s no market for it. So the quality of amateur recordings is probably good enough for most fans. Sad, but true, it seems.

Plenty of other artists with smaller canvases than MK find it profitable to film and release shows.

And how many of those 'artists' are pitch correcting vocals in the studio after the fact, or fixing/rerecording every last mistake, and in some cases the entire show! This reminds me of an MK interview somewhere in the dim and distant past (around alchemy) where he talked about how many well known artists are releasing so called live albums much of which was doctored, imagine just how seamless and easy this is now in a modern recording environment.
Until the last week I've actually been on the MK side of the live release debate, thinking that ultimately it was his artistic choice. Having seen him twice I think the band is as good as its ever going to get and it would be a real missed opportunity not to produce some sort of permeant memento of this tour.
I'm off to pray to the non existent musical gods......

Yes, true. So you think the decitions not to MK release filmed shows are based mostly/purely on artistic considerations? Don’t you think something happened to the market for filmed concerts after smart phones and YouTube and stuff? Do we know how the All The Roadrunning DVD did sell?

Around 30'000 copies in the world.
-
Around 30'000 copies in the world.
And around 30 billion views online after the release :lol
Anyway, which is worse: Mark stopping playing because of cameras or Bob Dylan starting posing for cameras instead of playing? :think Either way, I was terribly distracted by people filming around me on the show, especially while gathered around stage. I wish security would take all the phones out of people prior to the show.

Personally I find people having conversations around me whilst the music is playing more distracting and darn right rude than people videoing the show. I mean why bother going to a concert if you are going to chat, go to a pub instead!!! :hmm :disbelief

Apart from talking during songs and shouting out the wrong lyrics, the other things that really annoy me are people going to the loo or for another pint of beer during some of the most beautiful solos! I just don't get it! ::)

Yes, that really riles me! Why don't they close the damn kiosks during the performance to stop these inconsiderate morons. It obvious that 10 minutes after their trip to get their beer you're going to be letting them out to go to the toilet too. :disbelief

$'s indeed. But what I found really odd was that at the Royal Albert Hall, people who left the Hall when Juke Ross was playing were only let back in during the breaks between songs, yet for MK it was the usual free for all. Why not the same courtesy for the headline act?

I saw loads of people in and out during the JR set on night 1. I was sat in the arena floor, 4 rows from front left of stage right by the exit. Where were you sat?

Yeah, the beer and toilet caravans get a pass from Mark, but a few cell phones that's a huge deal.

It's necessary to go to YouTube to see the comments. It's not Birmingham, but it ties in with recent comments here:

Was in section H of the stalls (on the 22nd). Maybe the stalls usher came from a theatre background where they won't let you back in until there is a suitable break in the performance

Agreed, theres a perfect time for that - during Romeo and Juliet!!!!!!!!!!

I can't understand why adults paying good money to see their beloved artist need to take whiz during a two-hour show. Go before the show, and if your bladder is healthy you shouldn't have to. Unless you have to have a beer or two during the show, which I also don't understand.

I've seen this at every show I've been to over the years - People arriving from the bar after the show has started and getting up 2 or 3 times for the toilet and/or more drinks. It shows a total lack of respect for the audience they are disturbing, and the band. Some seem so disinterested in listening to the songs you have to assume they were given the tickets and came along because it was "free" !
It also makes a mockery of the fair allocation when people are turning up 10 minutes into the set for second & third row centre seats. (They can't be real fans so how did they get the seats? ) :smack >:(

I don't know how they sell live video anymore.
Nobody buys DVDs.
People stream films but not so sure about music concerts.
All that said, there's definitely something odd about MK's take on all this - they went into BBC studios and filmed a one off on the last tour and then MK seemingly blocked it...
