So, I've always been fascinated by this verse in Solid Rock:
If I realised that the chances were slim
How come I'm so surprised when the tide rolled in
Mainly because I never figured out what it means.
Do you have any idea? ;D

I wanna live on solid rock
I’m gonna live on solid rock
I wanna give I don’t wanna be blocked
I’m gonna live on solid rock
and the wave took everything...
but this fragment is also mysterious:
When you point your finger ‘cos your plan fell through
You got three more fingers pointing back at you

The Odlfield book says that these 3 fingers COULD BE John, David and Pick, but it is of course only an interpretation

When you point at something or someone with one finger, the other three at pointing to you...

Makes very much sense, I don't know why but I always associated the "slim chances" to the wave rolling in :)

Yeah I'm not sure it refers to someone else either, it wouldn't make sense. Otherwise, it would have been Mark the one pointing the finger ;)
Actually I love this quote, it's one of my favourites.

I believe it wants to show him a bit surprised now, how gullible he was back then to hope for a good result when actually knew that would not end well.
