Agreed. Best version. From Real Live Roadrunning DVD. Offical.

I would even call it my all time favourite Mark's live recording and by the way, it gained many votes in MKNews poll on live versions.
I love bass playing here, amazing solos, guitar tone, tempo, length, harmonies, a perfect experience.

Yes, especially Stuart Duncan and Matt Rollings did an amazing job. The song has a soul. The best line up MK's solo career in my opinion. Without all the pipes and flutes but...

Thanks ;) I only have the studio album and some bootlegs from that tour. I gotta have that DVD now. You Guys are all right about it, the more you hear it the more you love it.

Hi all,
I also found this video from the same tour, which I wanted to share with you.
It was in Dublin, I was there and it was a great show from which I have fond memories.

Nice close-ups and very well play song. Too bad it's over.
I agree with Naif, best band line-up MK has ever put together. Period.

In answer to Peter's original question: Gibson Amphitheatre, Los Angeles. Now demolished.

Just to say I am REALLY impressed with the DVD version of this recording of "Our Shangri La".
When you listen to the Soundboard recordings (FM Broadcast) of the very same concert, same song, and compare .mp3, .flac versions and the version from the DVD it is amazing how clear the DVD version is in comparison.
I mean the output from the Soundboard would be the same right ?
Great job from MK´s technicians to make it so crystal clear.

Oh, I would love to hear soundboard and FM versions! Where I can get those?

The RLRR DVD is great. Although I have always though that the audience should be more present, both visual and audible. I don't think I have ever seen/heard a live recording where the audience is more or less missing like this. Not a big issue, though. The performance is great. Sounds pretty much like a studio recording :)
And one more thing: Emmylou's stunning Michaelangelo is not on the DVD... The live version of that song from this tour, with Mark in the background on his Les Paul, was really something...

and that then somehow brought me to this...

If you search for "knopfler verona 2006 torrent" you will find them :). There are two versions I think. Also on Knopfler Tracker
