Title: Karaoke tracks
Post by: paddybrown on October 11, 2013, 01:31:03 AM
Anyone know where I might get a karaoke backing track/instrumental version of "Belle Starr" from the All the Roadrunning album? I'm in a singing class, we're doing duets, and I think the girl I've been paired with might do a decent Emmylou Harris.

Have you checked iTunes?

Karaoke for any of MK solo songs is almost impossible thing to find. You can find Telegraph, Sultans and other Juliets indeed.

Best way is to record it by yourself, I practice this with my class. Belle Star is pretty simple tune done with the open tuning.

That's a thought - although it'd probably be as easy just to play it live.

There are 191 Mark Knopfler karaoke tracks on iTunes (not 191 different songs, some of them have more than one version), but sadly Belle Starr isn't one of them. One of them, oddly, is "Going Home".

Another one I thought of was "I Remember You" by Steve Earle and Emmylou Harris, but that's not available either.
