I don't want to sound alarming, but I have just checked the whether forecasts for Carcassonne tomorrow night and they look very bad: heavy rain (30%), strong risk of storm... and this is an outdoor venue... :/
And if the show is to be cancelled, there is no way to make up for it with a 3-hour show like in Vaison'96... on thursday the band is already in Spain !!

I hope the weather will be fine because I'll be there and it's my one and only show of the tour...
But heavy rain and wind are announced for tonight and tomorrow morning. Tomorrow afternoon, it will probably be better.
Fingercross...

I have gotten the weather "report" from the locals (the hosts at our B&B), and they say no rain.  Always the optimist, I am going to go with this!  :D

Stressful now... Sultans or not Sultans, in a fantastic venue like in Italy ?
On the one hand I would love it, on the other hand i think I would kill myself for being such an idiot to have renounced going to this beautiful place !!

Ah, news at last...
Ingrid, you almost got me into a divorce, the time was sooo long after RAJ that I kept refreshing the screen, waiting for Sultans or not, and I turned down my wife's command to go and read a bedtime story for the kids... until she gave me this look that I'd better comply... :D
So, no Sultans :( too bad, Carcassonne would have been ideal for that !

Maybe I get it in Madrid  ;D
Sorry my dear, didn't want to bring you in trouble
But phone was empty, and then I didn't check every minute because it's so far away from me  :P

You're not dreaming. It was seated, so Haul Away make sence. No SAN, pff, I love that song. I can't do without.
So MK, if you read this, don't drop it when I am in Madrid and Malaga!

Wov... in an antic theatre that could have been Mark's "live at Pompeii", no Sultans, no Speedway, no Brothers...
So, no regrets that i did not go, I was better off in Saint-Julien :) even if our course it does not mean that the show wasn't faboulus, setlist is not everything ! let's wait for Knoplerized and Lis' report :)

A lot of bugs and mosquitos yesterday, and a little bit short concert (1h50). But even if I miss sultans and speedway, I must admit that Mark and the band were absolutely fabulous.
And a little bonus for me, I've met Guy making photos in the afternoon in the streets of the medieval cit

Hi everyone!  It was a very enjoyable concert in Carcassonne, even though there was no SOS or Speedway and it was rather short.   The venue was magnificent and it is a shame there was no filming at such a beautiful place - another chance lost!

We were seated on the first row, which was very close to the stage, but it was perfect, because the band were standing quite a way back from the front of the stage.

It was an extremely hot evening and there were masses of flying insects. It was quite funny really, because Mark had to use some insect repellent during the show and muttered something about "....mosquitoes"  - actually I think they were flying ants and really annoying!  I think the band were affected by the heat a bit,  especially Guy, who seemed to be wilting before my eyes, so was I in fact! :lol

My favourite songs were TR, which was played magnificently and Marbletown, which seemed to have evolved yet again.  The audience was very enthusiastic and the applause went on for what seemed like an endless time!

It was lovely to meet members of amit again - Lis and her sister and JulienFlamand for the first time and knopflerized, ds1984, Jeroen and Isaac, who was seated next to me - it was great to meet you all!  :-*

Now I am having withdrawal symptoms, because that was my last of five shows, but at least I have a few more days left to explore Carcassonne, which is really beautiful - and very hot - 38 degrees today!

It was great to meet you as well Superval :D
Carcassonne was a nice performence in a nice venue!
Actually I had for the first time (oh well 2nd) of the tour a 6th row ! But in this teather it was really really good ! Probably better than the very front row which was tooooooo close from the stage ( which was pretty high)! BTW I was invited to seat on some guys laps during TR and we stood for the encores (front row)!!
A very good last show (for me)
