Help needed, I will be in my car driving to Germany for another nice weekend (this time outdooractivity-related instead of music) but also would like to hear the live broadcasting. I have an ipone with internetconnection. Does anyone know how I can connect it to my carsystem so I also can hear it (sound from iphone is a mess as you all know)

do you have an AUX IN in your car system ? with a jack-3,5mm connection ?

if so, you just have to connect your iphone to the AUX with a jack-3,5mm cable

if not, I don't see any other solution, unless using (good) headphones

the sound from iphone is no very good with the headphones provided, but if you're using a good one, with a good level (and more bass), you can have a real good sound

If you know  how late MK's show starts in the RAH (local time) this fluctuate ,subtract eight hours from that.
(show starts @ GMT time minus 8 hours = "your time")

Will we ever see a standing ovation for GB or Sonny?

I've got to confess I'm baffled as to MK's decision not to make Sultans part of the standard set.  The concert is great anyway but so much better with it and it get the audience going so much.  I'm going over old ground though.

Looks as if it was an enjoyable tour, one that I sadly missed.

Following the RAH setlists has been especially painful as West London was home until work brought me to back stateside last September :(

Hope you all had great fun and have many fond memories to take with you.

Will we ever see a standing ovation for GB or Sonny?

I've got to confess I'm baffled as to MK's decision not to make Sultans part of the standard set.  The concert is great anyway but so much better with it and it get the audience going so much.  I'm going over old ground though.
I don't 100% agree with you very often, so here, I have to say: +1000 !

 :lol
I thought we almost agreed on a lot!
Yeah, true. Except the day you said that Alchemy was "massively overrated". I almost had a heart stroke ;)
Sometimes the opinion from dmg is a little controversial.............but it's always formulated very diplomatic  ;D

I had no ticket for this show. I went to stanhope arms and met JBAENT and Binone and spanish friends. They left and me and my girlfriend took a large pint. After that we found a printable ticket for the show, we walked to RAH to return the ticket. We asked the servicedesk if there were tickets available. And within 30 secs we bougt 2 Gallery standing tickets. I was allowed in with my Dslr with me.

Sound was pretty ok so high in the hall. Great show! I saw during romeo that Richards tech was preparing the red strat. So i knew Sultans was coming.  :D very happy with that and Going Home!

Im very glad we made that very quick decision (thanks alcohol)  :lol

Looking forward to tonights show!

Nice you met Guy, sorry you missed Mark.
I don't drink alcohol but this seems a good reason to begin...... :think

Guy is very learned person, with a lot of interest besides his musicality.
Ok , ask the doc....its what is says ask doc Fletch , most questions about himself he answers,
it does not say "ask me any or everything about Mark".
I mean how would you feel when somebody else answers questions about you, so that is why Guy is sometimes drawn back in his answers,
when it comes to Mark.
And set list questions..............or requests (be-quests Mark like to call them)...........come one,
he will never tell or promised them, we all know.

So ask him what he eat.... He answers.
ask him what MK eat...can't tell, don't know, didn't notice, he was at another table, my eyes were weary , or no answer at all.

And I have always a big laugh when somebody tries it again  :lol

he is good guy Guy.

WHAHA,

I had the same question too.
I know that some bands (local) plays it before they taking a pause, isn't it a cartoon melody or something.

I have the same with a tune Mark plays during the end solo of Seattle, not so good to hear on this show, but who have the
RAH 27th may stick (or other dates with Seattle) listen  from 4.09min to 4.15min (RAH 27th may stick)

now we have two mysteries :think

I couldn't find any video from the 31th, but on this video from 27th, around 3'10-3'20, Mark plays some licks in the same way he did in 91-92 for the Bug, or Gravy Train live 96, and in Eastbound train (live too), aka "the train chord", like explained in Ingo's article

Hey LE, I think you are very close...  I was on a similar wavelength (pun intended)... I was thinking at first that this was a trumpet from the Big Band era.  And while I still can't place it, I am also wondering if this could be a Chuck-Berry-kind of riff.   :think

So I sent the clip from IUTC over to a good friend, and he immediately pulled "First Call" (used in horse races), and said it sounded like MK "quoted" it (BTW, it's kind of fun putting quotation marks around the word "quoted" hehehe).

Also, my friend DID agree that the riff sounded Chuck Berry-esque.   :hmm

Lis,
I have compared the "First Call" and the Use to Could solo "tune" simultaneous couple times,
and you may think that Mark improvised a bit, but that is the point for me, what Mark plays I know note by note,
I can play it note by note (no big deal) on my guitar.
A local band in North-Holland (Beverwijk) known as the Ruud Jansen Band, named after the band leader's name Ruud Jansen (GREAT keyboard virtuous BTW) used that exact tune , the way Mark plays it, before they took a break, but that was years ago, and the band changed members often since then, I don't know any of them in person, but I will see if they play the neighborhood soon, to ask it Ruud Jansen.........and hope he remembers that "we take a break-tune"

And I just stopped watching numerous of  Chuck  Berry clips on you-tube , hoping I was lucky to find that riff in a song of his,
because it is played indeed in a CB kind of way.
Was great to hear all his great songs and blues licks, so it was not a punishment :lol

Enlight, glad you enjoyed the Chuck Berry clips!  it sounded like a good idea, so I listened to some myself... it's been awhile since I listened to his music -- defintely fun!!

I am still pretty torn over whether this is improvised from "First Call' or something different.  Please keep us posted -- I hope you get to see another  Ruud Jansen show soon!  :)

..Pottel... see what you started!!!  :smack  ;)  :D

Now I go beyond mine embarrassment ,

just wanna know the tune, hopefully anybody is still on this topic. :wave
after searching, asking etc. I was no step further.

yesterday I was strumming that tune on guitar  and fooling around with it , it seems to be an end of a tune,
until  I hit a note followed by some others and I had a longer tune, which is also recognizable, the anger part of it is
that I couldn't place that tune which comes  after Marks tune.
Now I am asking , do I have invent another tune or is this the rest of Marks tune and does anybody recognize it now? ? ?

Although I can invite you all @ my home, which would be nice, I thought a cheaper way was to rec. my tune quick and post a stream-link :
so its start after some rumbling with Marks tune which goes over in "mine" in between a shameless lick to connect it for a second time.

...
just wanna know the tune, hopefully anybody is still on this topic. :wave

Although I can invite you all @ my home, which would be nice, I thought a cheaper way was to rec. my tune quick and post a stream-link :
so its start after some rumbling with Marks tune which goes over in "mine" in between a shameless lick to connect it for a second time.

Yes!  Still on subject.  Ingrid warned us about this!!!  :hmm

I think you have found a natural ending to the few bars that Mark played -- it sounds like it belongs.  My friend also thinks so.  I am just not sure if it is "the" natural ending   :think

This is really insane  :smack Can't get it out of my head. Talked about it with my physiotherapist this morning (he couldn't get it out of his head either, so needless to say the therapy was useless today  ::)) and he came with the name Roger Whittaker whistling this on one of his songs. I tried to listen to some songs/tunes of his at youtube but didn't find it so far.

I am listening to Telegraph from the audience recording

as usual, it sounds way better than the soundboards from this tour (or the previous)

it hasn't 'better quality' but it sounds 1000 times more real, thus much more enjoyable, at least to me

I complained a lot about last tours' Simfy recordings but I must say that I really enjoy these Bleeker ones.  A really nice audience recording is good too though and it's maybe a pity MK fans are so honest as to not share audience recordings of recorded shows.  Maybe too honest!

It seems that Mark plays the Drum and Bass intro of "I Was Kaiser Bill's Batman",

I found the complete version here from vinyl comparing to the "video-clip" , which is edited :
