Sorry for the exhaustive list; these were all the songs posted in the two recent threads: Songs never played live & Songs that could be played. Yes, I included both DS and MK songs. Let's give this a try -- we can narrow the list later, if needed.

thnx lis

done. not easy.
-
Not easy at all! Thanks Lis

Sorry for getting to this late, but I just added Monteleone! (I think that was one of the songs mentioned!) :smack
If anyone who has previously voted needs to change their votes, this poll allows edits :think
-
Done. I've selected mainly never/hardly played songs.
-
Me too, rudiger! But, Fat chance! Some groups, like the Rolling stones, create a poll before a concert and play the winner song. Fingers crossed! :)

Kingdom Come appears twice.

Ouch! :o

No, don't mean a word, dmg! Love Danny. Just like the word play produced! ;D
-
not well done
imo the list should include only songs NEVER played in any MK tour since 1996
a lot of songs shouldn't be in the list
It does seem a bit pointless to have HFB there when it will most likely be played anyway and is a wasted vote. Crows, Marbletown and some others too.
-
All my votes were on DS songs that were rarely played even during the DS days. ;)
-
Not an easy task, indeed. Harder will be the dream coming true.
-
Mmmm, and I voted for HFB. One of my all time favs, despite it has been played lately
-
HFB was such a big surprise for me when I first heard it live! So it is OK by me! :wave
-
Mmmm, and I voted for HFB. One of my all time favs, despite it has been played lately
yes but this was intended to request 1 new song, the most voted or at MK choice one of the 3 most voted
it doesn't make sense to request a song they always play
HFB was played at both of the concerts I attended this fall, unlike KOG and YTC which were rotated, so I think it is a good bet it will be on the setlist this time around too. Of course, we could all vote for HFB and report back to Guy our results and then when MK actually plays it, we can feel like he listened to us! ;)
-
And while we are on the topic of requests, this has been bothering me since I attended MK's concerts this fall. He said in both concerts I attended "Ah yes, the bequests." At first, I thought I had heard it wrong since he is such a master of the English language. But then, I heard it again clearly at the second concert. Well, if MK begins to honor bequests rather than requests, then I am the first to put my order in for R & J. ;D

Really it was this? Then I'm sorry, I didn't understand correctly. :smack I thought it was just as the poll stated, "What songs would you LOVE to hear?" 8) And if no one voted for HFB and MK decided to let it off the table because he thought the fans didn't like it? ???
But if it doesn't make sense to vote for HFB, let's take it out of the poll ;)
Sad for me, I won't be able to listen to whatever he plays, not a chance to go to Europe or the US this time.
-
Thanks for your feedback! I was a bit torn up over the choices for the poll. There was probably enough of a need for two separate polls (never-played, and our dream songs, regardless if played before). Let's see how this works, and one option is to take the winnning choices and re-poll with a more narrow selection. At that point, we can also identify the never-played, and see if that makes a difference. In the meantime, please vote, if you haven't already.

Fine thinking! ;D I can do without R&J though.
Nababo don't worry a bit. You thought correctly. jbaent came up with this fine idea later on this thread, so it was more like an idea of "use it, since you have it". After all it is statistics and we can cook the results, anyway we please. ;D
-
"all I do is keep the beat, the bad company" - click :thumbsup That's what he's got to get back into R&J to liven it back up a bit. Play it a tad faster and with more powerful vocals too. I was listening to Boston 23.04.01 last night and that version sounded so great compared to recent ones. Chicago 05.05.01 is great too, the outro solo on that one is superb.

No effing Romeo Dmg!!
-
Actually, I was wondering. From bob, with his gazillion shows under his belt, we know exactly which song was played, during which show etc..., I mean, it is awesome, do we not have someone on board that has the time to do a similar thing? Jeroen's site could be a starting point for the SETLIST details....anyone?
-
...to go with a second poll, for songs never been played?
-
...to go with a second poll, for songs never been played?
easy for the DS: only 3 songs have never been played ;D

how long was played in 93
our very own superval was in tge audience

I was making another mental exercise and I thought it would be funny to try to think about the preferences of people who are not like the average commenters in this forum. And I think that a MK show would be filled up only with DS songs. OK, maybe WII... It would be something like the 1992/3 tour, with minor changes.
My attempt is:
Calling Elvis
Walk of life
Heavy fuel
Romeo and Juliet
Sultans of swing
Private investigations
Your latest trick
The bug
Why worry
Money for Nothing
What it is
So far away
Tunnel of Love
Solid rock
Brothers in Arms
-
"Hand in hand"..?

You can't believe anyone who likes Marbletown. ;)
So Hand In Hand's the third one then.

Lis Thank you very much for posting the Poll! :clap ........Like the others, it was also for me hard to choose! :think

It looks like TOL and WDYTYAG are leading. My 2 ultimate songs I dream to hear live :) I mostly voted for DS songs.

I know I will sound like a fan, ;D but MM is a nearly perfect pop/rock record, that never grows old. Even Les Boys has its charm, and its placement there last on side two, is more like a wink, a joke for the ones that understand and a closing cabaret number. (For those that still hate it, the Yugoslavian edition omits it, while resuffling the rest of the songs) The rest are just fantastic. Hand in hand is one of the songs I like best and I was wondering why it remains in the shadows. I would also like to listen Skateaway, but i guess like TOL, with its iconography is more suitable for younger ages and perhaps that is why MK doesn't play them anymore.
Just an idea: Even though DS and MK never really recorded a "concept" album, it would be an exceptional idea, now with the years closing and always having a reason for an anniversary, to play a whole album, or two. Wouldn't be great to hear the whole two first albums, even with new arrangements?
-
so no one wants to pick up my idea?? i would love to, but simply have no time :-(

Yes, both "How Long" and also "Ticket to Heaven" were played for the first and only time at the gig at the Town & Country in Leeds '93!

So when it comes about to send Guy a list of songs to maybe get one or two, is this the very little we have?
:hmm
-
Pottel your idea is fine, but it takes too much time for research for just one person. And most of us here have only a fraction of your concert library. Do you have a database with what you have? I don't have. Maybe it would be better to start a thread and each one of us can contribute with what he/she has, always avoiding to list the already listed. As a nice reference we can even start with what Spanish city has.
-
I know what you mean Pottel and I too have a vast collection. Whenever I need to find a particular track I just log on to Jeroens' site and look it up. His wonderful site is a database for so many of us I'm sure. I only have a list of my bootlegs that I have archived onto CD, but no track lists.

Not sure I follow, jbaent. Do you mean too little responses from members, or two few options (or too few selected options)?
-
Don't know if the poll is closed already - would it have made sense to include "In the Sky"? One of my all-time favourites, but hardly a classic live song ???
-
'In the Sky' is added. (Apparently, I am a rather accommodating pollster!) ;)
-
45 votes is enough to be sent to Guy before they start rehearsing?
-
jbaent, you don't have to present the number of voters, just the percentage. ;)

We can keep the poll open longer, as long as the results don't change ;)
Next step... who can get this info into MK hands (either directly, or by some other roundabout way ... such as Guy? )???

TOL the most voted? What a surprise! :lol

I didn't vote for TOL !
Been my Holy Grail for years but I gave up in 2008.
Anyway, it's only the 1985 extended intro that makes it great and I doubt MK would play it again. :'(
-
with TR and SOS it's in my Top 3 DS songs
-
Just sent a summary of the votes to Guy, the last songs are the ones with a 2% of votes.
