Hi, all!
It seems that Mark will perform at a fundraising event for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and the Alan Shearer Foundation on 18th February...

Thank you, wateroftyne! Can you tell us a bit more, please? :)
I notice on The Sage website that the concert was to be filmed for a DVD.

I can, because I played the bass :)
It was a great night - brilliant atmosphere, and lots of money raised for the Bobby Robson foundation.
Mark's only contribution was guitar on Try a Little Tenderness and, after that, Going Home. Both were glorious, even if I am a little bit biased.
Here's a pic...

Thank you so much, wateroftyne! I would have loved to have been there - such a beautiful venue too! I know this sounds a silly question, but did you speak to MK? :)

I did. He was very, very pleasant and worked very hard to make sure everyone in the band was happy.

How wonderful that you had the chance to play with MK - something most people can only dream of! He sounds a really nice person too! :)

Well done you! Good to see a real fan getting to perform with their hero like this - bravo.

That looks like a huge shaving mirror on stage, magnifying Mark. Unusual!

or simply be there :-)
@wateroftyne: how did it come about?
also, will a dvd indeed be released?
or, does a "fan recording" (audio) exist?
awesome for you to be able to experience such a one off experience. funnily enough i feel no jealousy at all, just glad for you ;-)

Hello!
I was asked to play in the house band by the MD (Mark wasn't involved in the decision). When I was told who was playing, it took me about 0.0000000000000000000000001 seconds to think about it and say 'yes!'. There'll be a DVD soon, and there's no fan recording that I'm aware of.
I'm a huge, huge fan, and have been for years, so it was an absolute honour to do it.
Here's a video clip from the night (http://www.itv.com/news/tyne-tees/story/2013-02-18/life-of-sir-bobby-celebrated/). There's only a tiny bit of concert footage - but there's a shot of MK & I at about 50sec in.

That's Gazza man. A reet Geordie and used to be one of the worlds best footballers. Played for my favourite team too. Sadly he has been very ill lately due to alcoholism. :(
-
Wow, didn't recognize him AT all! Paul Gascoigne is well known to me of course. He has been very popular during his active career and in 1990 especially...
I read the sad stories about him but haven't seen him lately... So let's hope he will bear up...

I knew it was Gazza, big football fan myself. My answer had a pun in it due to his notorious cocaine abuse.

I thought it was Gazza but I wasnt sure...
Sad how the man ended, I hope he can recover.

There is someone who looks very like Ray Cooper, playing a small drumkit, but I think there is a closest image where it doesnt look like him... as time pass and people changes.. was him Ray Cooper?
