First day, i cant help myself but be as busy as possible, forgive me! :)
And this is going to sound ridiculous and greedy, especially since Privateering hasn't even been released yet!
But do you think there will be another chapter and another solo album in the life of Mark Knopfler?
I cant help but get your opinions on this! :lol
-
Of course! He has already said he has many songs in his head! :D
-
Time frame? Think it'd be another 3/4 years or do you think with all these songs he'd do it quicker and he says he's afraid of "running out of time"?
-
I think we'll probably see another album in 2 years time - that's if another Bob tour doesn't get in the way! ;)
-
I like the sound of that! ;D
-
I hope after this year he's done with Bob Dylan. Then we can expect another album in 2014 :D

I have the feeling that MK is not done with Dylan yet...
Let's see if future doesn't bring us a cd of both...
Let's see.

I wonder how we will be able to cope with another "usual" 11-14 track album with let's say the usual 50, 55 minutes. This mass of good music on Privateering is pure bliss in my opinion...

With Bob Dylan and his blues songs?
They can fill 7 records in less than two weeks...
;D

Mark still owes me a collaboration album with Paul Simon (I told him when I met him and he said he'd love to). So Bob will have to wait.
-
If he does, you have to change your avatar with a Bob-one. Promise?

I rather have Mark collaborate with Chris Rea, J.J. Cale, Bela Fleck, Derek Trucks or David Gilmour ;D

Or Lady Gaga
Or Justin Beaver
-
Mark don't need such collaborations. His own talent is huge enough. ;D

Love it! :lol :lol

Only collaboration for me would be David Gilmour. Others are not interesting to me ;)

I had my point all the last years in saying that I don't like collaborations because they tend to distract him from the "real" thing, his very own albums. But after I've heard how much energy and good mood there seems to be in "Privateering", I guess a collaboration with one of his all-time-favourites like Bob will give him a push... I trust him in searching the right partner - ATRR was great, too, so he seems to have the right feeling about them!

I like Joe Bonamassa, but they won`t fit together, two masters of the guitar..no...
But what about Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull ? With his flute...I think that could match...
And yes, David G would be great !

Mark with Knopfler. Enough

I'd say Tim O'Brien although he's not exactly a headliner...
Secondary MK could join the Transatlantic Sessions for an episode or two (rendering in an album of course). He's already played with most of them anyway ;D
