Proper soundboard version of Planet of New Orleans live?
« on: April 04, 2015, 12:50:48 PM »
Hey guys, I've been looking for a good live version of Planet of New Orleans, and of course have found many. But is there a soundboard version of it?

Thanks in advance

No.  There are some good audience recordings of it though.  These are probably two of the best in terms of sound:

Los Angeles 08.02.92
East Rutherford 23.02.92

Thank you very much, I'll look into it. Such a shame there isn't a soundboard version though..

Where does this come from? Looks like a rehearsal?

It is from the production rehearsals prior to the OES tour. Some small parts can be seen in this MTV programme:

The documentary is worth watching.
You might get lucky, now and then

Cool times when MTV showed such documents.

Amazing set on August 23

Calling Elvis
The bug
Walk of life
Romeo and Juliet
Planet of New Orleans
Heavy fuel
Private investigations
Sultans of swing
On every street
Iron hand
Portobello belle
I think I love you too much
Two young lovers
Telegraph road
Setting me up
Money for nothing
Brothers in arms
Wild theme
The long highway
I know the way I can see by the moonlight
Clear as the day
Now come on woman, come follow me home

Brussels 02.10.91 is the best version I've heard.  Mark is in the zone on the final solo no doubt.

For soundboard though there was also one used in that erotic video.  If I recall that was live.  Of course I haven't seen that myself.   ;)

I really wished when they released On the night that they included more rare stuff like indeed Planet of New Orleans, Fade to black, Iron hand, I think I love you too much (a shame that there isn’t also a studio version of it. Only the official Knebworth live release) and with other missing songs you could have made a great release.

I don't anyone here would disagree with you.
So many great and rare songs that could've made (another) record!
