Do they even exist? Not every snippet that was just mentioned by anyone involved has to be actually been recorded.. Batting For England and Bonafide, have they really been recorded? I mentioned Two Skinny Kids as there is a YouTube live version of it but I do not know if there has every been a recorded version of it?

LE

Never heard of Batting for England, but Bonafide was recorded during STP sessions, as Guy commented that it was a pity that it had never been released, as it was great.

Chuck Ainlay told me once in a private email that a lot of his favorite MK material had never seen the light of day.

How about also: Bonus songs in the sense they were a bonus for us all!! :clap

'What a wonderful world' - with Chris Botti
'Blues stay away from me' - with Chris Barber
'Ragtime Piece' - with Chris Barber
'The next time I'm in town' - with Chris Barber
'Throw those guns away/Knocking on Heavens door' - Dunblane disaster single
'Brothers in arms' - Help the Heroes release

Yeah, I love that version of Knocking on Heavens door.  His playing on that is great.  Does anyone know what guitar he used?  Was it the black Pensa-Suhr?

Did anyone mention Let It Be - Ferry Aid?

Surely the 58, MK was obsessed with it at the time, to the point of using it on quite inappropriate songs like The Bug and Cannibals. :)

Quite right.  Perhaps I got mixed up with Let It Be - that was in aid of the Zeebrugge ferry disaster in 1987.

I think b-sides is a more explored area now, and this is a list of side work, not complete still, but close.
All the titles and track lenghts taken from original CDs and vinyls, the list was done by Russian die-hard fans.
Actually there's a way to listen all these in an easy fashion, but since AMIT is prohibiting this I'll stay with just list.

«Chilly Winds» is just an early cover, nothing more to me.

@ foma: in your long list of side work you include several tracks by Mark himself. Are these officially released?
Further, as known there are a number of unreleased tracks from the 1983 Infidels sessions with Bob Dylan. You can find all of them in best quality on the 2-cd Outfidels Intakes. One tracks, Angel flying too close to the ground, was issued as a single B-side.

Yes, all the songs in the list are actual mostly official songs. Also there's outtakes of Mark's work with Randy Newman, it's very funny!
to which outtakes are you referring to foma?

I think it's time for one thread about b-sides and unreleased stuff and one for guest works. :)

I thought of that too.  Maybe a question for Dr. Fletch.

Batting for England? Alternative title for Heart of Oak?

Batting for England was a song MK composed and recorded at least as demos at the same time he recorded No Wonder He's Confused, Speedway TO Nazareth (early version of the song) and an early rock version of Secondary Waltz around 1994 with a band consiting of Nick Lowe, Paul Carrack and Bobby Irwin, that had just died sadly :(

Unfortuntely there are no recording svailables of the whole sessions
You might get lucky, now and then
